At the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard Goodwood paid tribute to the voice of motorsport, Murray Walker, who died earlier this year. Damon Hill lead tributes to the legendary commentator.

I met Murray at Silverstone during the GrandPrix Masters . I instantly felt I had known him all my lifetime . Indeed I had through his voice and love of motorsport. I have to stop now “I have a lump in my throat “🏎🏍🏁

I was lucky to meet and chat with Murray a few times and he was a wonderful chap and always a huge race fan and back in the 60s Murray was comentator for motocross or scrambling as it was called then and my dad Pete Mason was one of the riders Murray comentated on, Great legacy Murray, We miss you mate.

Murray’s voice, The Chain and green Ferrari’s ( due to the satellite tech of the day) racing in Brazil are my earliest, fondest, memories of F1. I need to stop now as I have a lump in my throat.

Murray Walker was the greatest man in motorsport, the icon. He did make absolute everything exciting. What a legend.. I have a lump in my throat while watching this and thinking about him, so many memories.. So sad that he is gone too, but always remembered. Greetings from Finland!
