Just a Few Acres Farm

Just a Few Acres Farm

3 жыл бұрын

Sometimes we all need to do some goofing off! I do a fair amount of that today, messing with the pigs and paying proper respects to my old shop apron. But I also get some work done too, including cleaning up some more of the Farmall MD parts and soldering the radiator.

It pains me to see old tractors like the MD sitting derelict and rotten in a field forgotten, they are what made modern farming in America what it is today. They deserve a second chance so I’m glad to see you’re preserving history even if it’s one tractor at a time.

My Dad was an antique tractor collector. I wasn't into it like my brother, but now as I have aged, I have started to appreciate it. He passed away a few years back, but I have a couple of his tractors. I enjoy your videos because one of these days I will be working on those two tractors. As well as a couple of his old trucks. I find it very educating watching your tractor restoration. You make restoration about as interesting as it can possible be without boring people to sleep. You did a nice job breaking up your video in segments to make the whiners happy also. Keep up the good work.

Pete, I grew up on a farm/ranch in MS. My dad and grand dad managed a large Angus cattle ranch that consisted of 6 relatively large parcels in 4 counties from the late 40s - mid 70s. We had lots of pasture and raised corn, cut it for silage for winter feed. My maternal grand parents owned a 400 acre farm close by. They had cattle and farmed soybeans. All ran Farmall equipment. I was a little too young to drive the super Cs, Hs, Ms and Super Ms but I have a good many hours on 806s and 856s. I have seen many Ms at the shop being rebuilt and painted. I actually own an early model H (tractor fuel) and a LP Gas Super M that need to be restored. love all your videos, they remind me of a great time in my life. Keep them coming!

Hi Pete. I really really enjoy your videos. I too am a small scale farmer in Sweden and KZfaqr so watching your videos and following your life on your farm is very inspiring and rewarding for me. On the subject of ‘doing things wrong’ I can really relate. With no farming background myself I have to learn everything from scratch. I used to be worried about what others though and their opinions on my mistakes. Now I’ve learned to see my mistakes as a strength and sort of a gift that I’m giving to others. What inspires me more that doing something ‘right’ is the thought that by just showing myself doing something I might help someone else believe that they too can try for themselves. I know it’s happened to me watching your and others videos. It’s an empowering thing to show others that making mistakes is part of it, because often it’s just that which keeps us from believing we can and start doing what we love. Keep em videos coming! Loving every minute! 👍❤️

I'm in approval. Not because I would do it the same way, much, if not most; I probably would anyway. You're the type that keeps his nose to the grind stone and knows that a thorough job is a job worth doing. The payoff on this project will be, functioning equipment for years to come and therapeutics through the winter dull drums. About the soccer ball. Mama always said us kids would tear up an iron ball. Maybe...
