Buying songs separately without a subscription service was a really nice feature of Google play music if you just cared about some specific music you wanted, I remember using it to back then and while Google offered a way for people to download their songs locally and also transfer them to KZfaq music when they announced the shutdown, anyone who was to late to do that lost their bought songs which is irritating.

Don't forget how bad KZfaq Music is for actually listening to music. When trying to listen to a song from an album/single's page, where applicable, the user will be directed to what AI recognises as the "official" music video, instead of the audio upload from the artist's auto-generated topic channel. I don't need to explain why this is a bad idea.

I tried to transfer my music to KZfaq Music and it fucking botched it. I had some really big and carefully organized playlists and it only transfered the playlist TITLES. The playlists were fucking empty. This, the horrible UI, and the loss of the ability to buy music and download made me stop using it day 1.

I lost songs this way. Google sucks big time. I just avoid using anything related to Google because of this unless there's no alternative like KZfaq or Maps (In my country it's the only good option). Search has gone crap so now I use Bing which turned out to be pretty good despite many people have this prejudice that it sucks

The problem is Chrome is literally the backend of the internet. Excluding Firefox (which is built from GNOME) and Safari (which is built on WebKit) Chrome is literally everywhere. Even if you're not directly using it, Chrome is a byproduct of the Chromium open source project. I guarantee that you are looking at this on a Chromium-based browser.

I dont know the ins-and-outs of it. But I have heard that America has a very disconnected payment/debit/credit system. So in order to send someone money, or make sure stores/websites will accept your card you need one of the many 3rd party payment systems. Compared to Canada where most of our bank cards can also function as credit cards online (visa-debt for me), and I can send anyone else money instantly for free from my bank using the interact system (e-transfer)

The most reasonable excuse I can come up with is "convenience", but even then that's shallow. I get that carrying just your phone for everything is nice, but get a slim wallet case at that point. For example, I got a Pixel 8, the case has a nifty 4 (really 5) card slot behind it, it opens by sliding out, basically no thicker than your average thick phone case, all one piece. If you want convenience, just get one of these... Or curse yourself and get a full size wallet case.

Allowing illegal apps on their store even App store got them and bypassing the review team is a serious issue. Imagine if an app asked for your bank account number-would you consider that legal? These fake games are exploiting users by taking their money and bombarding them with more ads, which in turn generates more revenue for Google. Yet, these apps don't offer any real value in return. This situation raises significant concerns about user protection and platform accountability. Would you place a risk level? 1-5 or ( Too high to count ) - to me I was tricked and lost £5 for £10 in-game that i can't redraw to my account

They aren't killing it off in the US, they are just fixating it for India where payments and transactions are done via the UPI system. Since India is one of the only countries with UPI tech they are going to only fixate the app on India. It's one of the basic livelihood apps in India and no way they'd give up something that powerful in such a big country

They redesigned the entire application... Yeah they released a UI update to the Stadia Store _the day before_ they announced the shutdown and therefore also closes the store. This was crazy.

Google keeps killing its services, but keeps giving us those ATROCIOUS AI generate images on Google. Imagine Yahoo or Bing become the new leader for search engines.
