Google Pixel Battery Repair Guide Steps:
Step 1
Power down your Google Pixel smartphone.
Step 2
Eject the Nano-SIM Card Tray.
Step 3 (Google Pixel Display Assembly)
The 5-inch Google Pixel AMOLED display assembly is glued on solidly and is a tight fit within the frame. Apply heat to soften the adhesive.
Use the precision knife to create enough space to insert a playing card.
With the playing card slice through the sticky adhesive and carefully decouple the Google Pixel screen from the phone.
The display assembly is still connected to the Google phone, so don’t try to remove it entirely just yet.
Remove the following 2 T5 Torx screws securing the bracket that covers the display cable.
With the bracket out of the way detach the cable from motherboard and free the Google Pixel display assembly.
Step 4 (Google Pixel Midframe)
Remove the following 9 T5 Torx screws.
The thin midframe is secured by snug, press-fit notches. Use the precision knife to release the clips and separate it from the rear case… but don’t remove it entirely just yet.
Lift up the Google Pixel midframe and detach the ribbon connector from the motherboard, then separate it from the phone.
Step 5 (Google Pixel Battery)
Spudge up the Google Pixel battery cable from the motherboard.
Detach and extract the interconnect cable.
Google teases us with what looks like a pull to remove battery tab, we pull it only to find out it is perforated on the bottom.
The HTC-made, 2,770 milliampere-hour, Google Pixel battery is adhered to the phone with two strips of adhesive, but with a little spudgering it is readily removed.
* To reassemble your device, follow the steps in reverse order.

Thanks, that's a helpful guide. Since it is my best cell phone so far, I changed the battery and the display (original). Now it's like new.

Did you buy the original HTC battery or did you buy a Chinese battery? Have you noticed any important changes with the new battery?

@@xaviermoncada117 As far as I can remember, it is the original HTC battery. After that, i installed Lineage OS with a minimum of apps. With a full charge I can use it for at least two days. Sorry for the late reply!

while i was removing the screen with a card like it was shown in step 3, it detached the touch screen w/ LED screen instead of having it all come off like it was shown in the video. Now, I have to spend close to 70 dollars for new screen so I would recommend to be really careful.

@@charliegreen6626 Hey Same thing happened to me. Did your screen also completely die and wont even turn on but the phone will? (Just checking cause I'm considering ordering a replacement screen but I'm worried that I'd be wasting even more money if I've inadvertently broken another component inside the phone. Because I would have expected the screen to light up but just display a load of jumbled mess if it was broken instead of being unresponsive.) Thanks

@@Minkey0 they use cheaper glue on the pixel then iphones or Samsung, so it doesn't come apart well. even under heat. that's what the problem is.

I have a black j5. The screen does not work as the the capacitive buttons but the sound works. Someone knows the problem .... I think k he suffered a fall but nothing very serious ...

Ya WTF THIS DUMB FUCK SAID U NEED ADHESIVE TAPE ND DINT USE DAT SHIT. PLUS ON DA IPHONE 6 SCREEN REPAIR THEY didn’t UNPLUG BATTERY AFTER OPENING WHICH CAN FRY YOUR BOARD. THESE VIDS SUCK SWAMPNUTS

My assumption is that you use the red adhesive tape during the last step after removing the original adhesive (shown). I wish Fixez showed us how.

I'm with Bill, I didn't think the Google Pixel 1 had water resistance. maybe light rain and that's it. But dust might be an issue if your phone case isn't rated for it.
