Great review bro. Personally I think Google are going after Apple customers here. Apple fans always say "I want a phone that just works with no lag and a great software experience". That's exactly what the Pixel is. A great software experience. Buttery smooth, with no lag, and raw power. Samsung, LG etc can throw all the features in the world at their phones. Truth is they will never match Apple & now Google when it comes to software optimization (unless they come up with their own OS). At the end of the day, what's the point of having great hardware, if the software is rubbish? BTW I'm not a fanboy of anyone. I'm just saying.

I went from the Note 7 to the Pixel XL. I am not missing any of the features from the Note 7 that the Pixel does not have. I am not missing the lag, the awkwardness of the edges, and battery that drips. The Pixel is a major go. It does everything that a phone should do, better than any phone I have ever used.

Most Android phones start off smooth but a few months later its a different story. My Galaxy s6 and S7 Edge are good examples. Hopefully the Pixel is different. my iPhone 6s Plus is over a year old and runs just as smooth as when I got it..especially now with iOS 10

The UI stutter in almost every phone usually happens when you scroll SLOW, not fast. Even on the Nexus 5. Once you try slower swipes, it will have that stutter. What I'm interested in is if the fingerprint sensor is a grease magnet like my Xiaomi Mi Max, and does it still sense the fingerprint if it is indeed oily. I use hand sanitizer a lot as well as a controller (console gaming), so eventually all of that "grease" accumulates on the fingerprint sensor and the shit fails miserably until I clean it. Is this a problem on the Pixel XL?

Crazy thing, the XL holds up in 2023 better than most of those phones. Still smooth for an old phone and it still takes pictures that look good to this day.

Still a great phone in 2019! It has Android 10 and you can sideload the Pixel 4 camera apk (search Google for Camera Px) to get the Pixel 4 camera features. Buy the Pixel XL 128GB version and buy a new battery. Get the battery replaced and it's like brand new. Make sure the battery was manufactured within the last year of you purchasing it so that it's fresh. This will last you for 18-24 months. You can get this phone on ebay in late 2019 for $75. With refurbishing costs for a new battery, labor, and a case, depending on your area, you can get this going for $150 including the phone. Again, with Pixel 4 camera functionality (yes, astrophotography , portrait mode, light trails photography, frequent faces, etc). Camera Px is the way to go on all Pixel devices - NO ROOTING required. Shout out to the Flossy soldiers, represent!
