Dont buy it!!!i feel that google stole my money by charging a high price for a bad product. I REGRET TO BUY THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE!!! IN TEMU I SAW SEVERAL DOORBELL WITH PLUG IN CHIME AT A FRACTION OF COST 15 DOLLARS !! VS THE LOW QUALITY AND LACK OF PLUG IN google doorbell !!! I COULDN'T RETURN IT TO STORE BECAUSE THE ELECTRICIAN USED THE WIRES IN DOORBELL AND PLACED THE CHIME INSIDE MY VERY OLD CHIME BOX. I DONT HAVE THE TOOLS TO OPEN IT.AUTHORITIES MUST DO SOMETHING WITH THIS scam.

I've got the security, smart lock and had the cameras, but needed a wireless option. This is why I purchased 4 year insurance. If it stops functioning I'll exchange it for something else.

The new doorbell is a downgrade compared to the Nest Hello. They don't tell you that even if you choose to wire their new doorbell, it will not have 24/7 video recording like the Hello.

@@lazo5784 On the Google product page for the new doorbell camera it says, “Whether you choose battery or wired installation, the Nest Doorbell (battery) cannot continuously record 24/7 video history. Google Nest offers other cameras and a wired-only doorbell that can record 24/7 video history with a Nest Aware Plus subscription.”

One of the main things people want to know is how laggy it is when someone uses the doorbell and for it to show up on a nest hub. Or how long it takes to show the doorbells view when asking Google assistant. That for me is a deal breaker if they have not improved that . Nobody seems to cover it in reviews though

Only problem with the new door bell is it's not able to run 24/7. Would love to upgrade to it since the old one makes everything an event but I need that 24/7 recordings.

Thanks for your video. I have a question about the Nest Cam with Floodlight. Do you think you could connect it with a regular cord without a separate junction box? I found out that Google once posted an installation video for the Nest Cam with Floodlight, which isn't available now. This is the description in the video. Does this description tell if it requires a junction box? “The Nest Cam with Floodlight is designed to replace an existing floodlight with a wired connection of 100 to 240 volts ac, 50 to 60 hertz. Install in accordance with local building and installation regulations. New installations may require additional hardware. You may need to hire a qualified professional to help with installation.”

Battery operated? Maybe for mounting in a tree, but not a serious solution for security. In theory, Nest will offer some solutions to those who want their cameras powered... I think Nest could have kept their high end IQ cameras and added this consumer line as well.. But they forgot to ask me!!

You can have them plugged in (operating with a wire). Same with the Nest Hello (via a wired chime) "The Nest Doorbell is battery powered, so it’s easy to install. Pair with Nest Mini4 to get an audible chime, or choose the wired installation to get your existing chime." -Google Store "Weatherproof cable If you’re installing Nest Cam outside, you have the option to hardwire it with the weatherproof cable - no charging required. So do these do people and facial recognition similar to IQ or not? The fact that it detects a person vs movement was a HUGE plus for my uses. I have tons of landscaping, lots of wildlife... movement happens all the time. I don't need alerts all day and night if it's not human and even better if it scrutinizes who the person is.

Typically Google though going for last year's specs, the new cameras still 1080p, they should have been 2k expecially the wired ones, with 2k you can easily see the improvement, expecially in faces at a distance.

1080p is 2K, you have no idea what you're talking about. If you meant 4K, 4K has much worse lowlight performance than 1080p due to smaller pixels with less accurate light readings.

The Outdoor Nest Camera video playback is sporadic AND no longer "flows" smoothly (It used to a few years ago) - SO choppy AND at time just "freezes"....I CANT FIND ANYWHERE where to fix this. (My wifi is TOP notch "the best" SO, it's NOT that) What say YOU?

I've been with Nest since before Google purchased them. I have two Nest Learning Thermostats, 5 indoor cams, three outdoor cams, 3 Nest Protect Smoke Detectors, and 3 Nest Yale Locks. I was about to make the leap to purchase the Nest Secure alarm system; when they discontinued it. I'm excited to see these upgrades and that Google Nest is making the investment. Still waiting for the alarm system though....

In Europe the doorbell will be retailing €275. That is legal theft. At least it works with 8 VAC. No need to change the transformer to 24 VAC.

No they do not. Latest release notes I saw "A couple of things that might be missing for you relates to connectivity, where some countries will lose outdoor 5 GHz WiFi options. Weave is used instead of base Thread, which will likely mean Google keeps this internally connected only to their own products, and that's been confirmed as of launch day, as Google won't be supporting the upcoming Matter standard with these new cameras."

Unfortunately the 3 hour event recording is pointless as it means only the the last 3 hours is recorded (what ever events happend between those 3 hours) so a recording at 5pm will have vanished by 8pm. Pointless

Three hours of an event I would imagine covers a long period of time assuming a few minutes for each event.

I paid about 150.00 for a nest camera but didn't know it WILL NOT record unless you pay for a monthly subscription, so needless to say I no longer use it. For much less a free 30 day recording, you can't beat Wyze cameras, a much better deal.

@@Auroramystic Yeah I agree, but that isn't nessarily always bad thing and doesn't really harm anyone. I love google products, and have a couple of them myself. I find it helpful to have personal recommendations. Plus some contributions made like KZfaq Premium funds go to the creators we like.

But better than companies like Apple. Atleast Google says you further about what they track and what they don't. Apple on the other hand don't reveal until it is out like Siri conversation. I am better off with a company that I can believe their words rather than company that claims great things but always do something opposite inside.

I hope someone can help me as I'm running out of time, quickly. I have 4 Google nest wired cameras and the plan that's 12$ a month. What I need is to save footage/recording/clip that could be as long as an hour or 30 minutes. I did it once on my phone and for the life of me I cannot figure out how I did it. HELP....PLEASE! It's footage of my dog that died and I need it. I see people commenting and saying you can do it but HOW. I had a double concussion within one month of each other and unless I write it down I can't remember very well. I'd like to have it instead of being 10 30 second clips it would be a solid video. Help😓

I just bought into Nest cams about 4 months ago after hearing people rave about them. I was very underwhelmed starting with the nest cam not wanting to pair. I was then disappointed with the app. I couldnt figure out how to save a videoclip on my iPhone, come to find out you cant. Only on iPad. A lot of good the camera does if you cant save the clip for the police. The app is clunky motion alerts are minutes delayed for some reason.

3 hrs of recording is worthless. They should offer reduced price for event-only recording. On-device processing is great. Are these 4k or 2k digital zoom capable cameras? What is a “wireless” doorbell?They all connect thru wifi? Do you mean, it is “only” battery powered? If so, then that’s already a downgrade! Big ‘ole misstep from the big “G” once again. The old hardware just needed better software along with more flexible plans. And no mention of Matter or Thread support. DOA!
