"Republican gubernatorial candidate in Oklahoma proposed euthanasia for people on food stamps who are too disabled to work.
In a Facebook post made by a page purporting to be for OK governor candidate Christopher Barnett, the administrator initially posted a poll about food stamp requirements - and then made comments claiming euthanasia is a solution to the “issue” of the poor and disabled. In a post made by Tulsa resident Lisa Schwart, screenshots of the thread from the Chrisforgov campaign page that shares a name with Barnett’s campaign website revealed the comments.
“Most receiving food stamps work, or are disabled,” a user commented on the poll post. “Some are elderly.”
“The ones who are disabled and can’t work…why are we required to keep them?” the Chrisforgov account responded. “Sorry but euthanasia is cheaper and doesn’t make everyone a slave to the Government [sic].”
Defending his now-deleted comments, the account admin mused as to why American taxpayers should “have to keep up people who cannot contribute to society any longer?”

They didn't just share the idea, they implemented it for over 5 years during the war. The program was called Aktion T4, more than 200,000 German citizens were exterminated for being deemed physically/mentally inadequate.

"lebensunwertes leben", which translates to "life not worth living". and they did not just have the idea, but actually did that: kill people. with (phenol?) injections in the heart, or by packing them in a truck there the exhaust pipe was fitted into the interior part of the car - mobile gassing vehicle. this is not a fictional horror-story, this was actually done with people.

I don’t live in Oklahoma, but I’m glad you will get to vote against this vile thing. I don’t normally wish ill on people, and I don’t even go quite that far with him, but karma should mean he ends up disabled.

Holocron You are in no position to judge who contributes to society and who deserves death- nor is anyone else. That is an absolutely disgusting statement. People contribute in many ways- sometimes by inspiring others. No one is so disabled they can’t possibly do that.

No, you clearly stated you "don't normally wish ill on people, but karma should mean he ends up disabled." Key words: "normally", suggesting something out of the normal is happening here otherwise your sentence doesn't bare any relevance to the situation, and "but", suggesting something changed here. The "I don't even go quite that far with him" is like a veil to obfuscate the entirety of the sentence that surrounds it on both sides, because clearly you do go quite that far with him. You actually go further, because you just don't WISH ill on him. Here's the meat. You go onto say karma "should mean", saying you're not just the arbiter who decides this man's judgment, but the arbiter dictating how karma works - in a fashion to inflict punishment upon people you deem unsavory without strong evidence. Edit: I agree with your second post to Holocron, entirely, for what it's worth. That's irrelevant to the topic at hand, but I just thought I'd let you know.

This country has largely lost its humanity. Any remnants of kindness that you used to assume from Americans, you can't anymore. We are becoming a cruel, mean and heartless country. I see examples every time I drive my car, go into a store, turn on the t.v. or get on line. Obviously, it isn't everyone but, living my entire life in the Portland area, you just didn't see it here. But in the last 2 or 3 years I have seen more of the heartlessness and unprovoked cruelty and just a general lack of concern and out- and-out disdain for others. It is super disheartening to see the people in my country thinking and behaving so poorly towards their fellow citizens, and completely unprovoked.

This man's "final solution" for the poor, disabled, and elderly is straight out of Germany circa late 1930's: the T-4 Program which euthanized the most helpless and defenseless of people. Disabled or "incurably ill" children and adults, disabled German soldiers who became paraplegics or quadriplegics (after 1939 outbreak of war), and elders who might have been stroke or Alzheimer patients were shunted into one of six euthanasia institutes where they were gassed and cremated. The cause of death was falsified as "pneumonia" or something similar. This murderous program continued until 1942 or so. To think that someone today wants to carry out similar policies of euthanizing those who are marginalized is disgusting and has forfeited his right to be considered anything other than a madman and a menace to society in need of immediate psychiatric detention. The GOP has become a breeding ground for this and other types of hateful insanity. Maybe the GOP should be euthanized for our safety.

I am disabled. I started paying in to my social security at age 9!!! I contributed my share for over forty years. I earned my ssi. It is not a privilege.

I have quite severe cerebral palsy: I cannot walk properly, feed myself or speak clearly. As such I get social support. With the right support, I was able to get a Master's in film studies. I now make films and do voluntary work at local schools. Would this embarrassment to human civilisation have me killed?

I have a disability since birth, and I sincerely hope that he won't ever have to experience the problems in life that I have experienced and will continue to experience for the rest of my life. I'm sure that this guy won't ever call the police or the fire department. If he can't put out the fire by himself, it would be his fault. And, why does this guy have staff? Can't he make it on his own? I'm sure he doesn't accept contributions to his campaign.

I was disabled from an accident at my job from a fall during a fire alarm set off by popcorn... where I was shoved down the steps by people acting stupid, broke parts of my spine, ended up with a major blood clot from the injuries almost died... do people realize just one accident can leave you able to walk one day and not the next?

The last country that had a state sponsored euthanasia policy is Germany. This program was devised by the National Socialists German Workers' Party (Nazis) and is now referred to as "Aktion T4". The purpose was to maintain the purity of the Aryan race by euthanizing individuals that were deemed to be undesirable and therefore pollutants to the bloodline. Now, an American politician that could accurately be described as a neo-fascist, suggests euthanizing a portion of the population incapable of feeding themselves. To put this abominable point of view in perspective, a news development nobody will see broadcast on corporate media, Pentagon auditors are unable to account for the expenditures of 21 trillion dollars. No, it is not 21 billion, it's 21 trillion. In reality, the human mind is not equipped for truly understanding a number that large. It's still a fact that the U.S. has the highest GNP of any other country. The problem is that the distribution of tax dollars is obscenely unbalanced and apparently the U.S. Military has joined the C.I.A. as rogue Agencies of the Federal Government accountable to nobody. Another difficulty is that yahoos such as this imbecile from Oklahoma are running for public office. The question is not if, only when this house of cards collapses upon itself.

They're as much Christians as Nazis are patriots. Don't put any value on their own words if they don't themselves and just see it as means to manipulate through lying. Evangelicals aren't Christians, ISIS aren't Muslims, and Nationalists CERTAINLY aren't patriots.
