Abandoned by his flock, Bigbird the pelican stumbled ashore after a storm and was taken in by the staff of Greystoke Mahale in Tanzania. Watch as Bigbird learns to fly for the first time.

It seems stable because the camera is mounted to its beak, you have to look at the body instead

This footage is really cool but what I find especially interesting is the path the bird takes. For a "test flight", I think it's not unlike what I think many of us might have choosen because it stays close to the shore, low to the water, doesn't go far and he goes out then comes right back.

Information: Big bird as they named him was injured in a storm and lost his parents. He was taken in by a animal health car place and they soon discovered he could not fly. When he learned to fly he was not comfortable leaving the facility and stayed. The care takers said "he may stay as long as he like we are happy he is part of our family"

I produce Drones for a living. The fact this bird'd first flight was absolutely perfect demonstrates the amazing sophistication of evolution. He knows how to get airspeed, knows how to get lift, knows how to bank, glide, land -- all without a single mistake, on the first flight! Pre-programmed by nature. Amazing! Great video!!

Ali Raza Syed Hours of meticulous editing and rendering digital FPS in an editing studio, caring for the slightest detail, and trashing the rest for a short clip in minutes, after hours of filming. adding audio to the mix optionally adds more to the fray (all this even done with a Go Pro and Go Pro editing studio software.) That, compared to a fast pace day to day life style where you don't even have time to adjust yourself to look perfect (in someone else's eyes). is why. or was this a rhetorical question?
