On Episode 1 of Two Roads, Pole Vaulter Allison Stokke shows us the importance of being authentic to your passions and why embracing your life's path is the only way to move forward.
The next Episode of "Two Roads" will feature Diver Kristian Ipsen, premiering Tuesday, April 19.
ABOUT THE SERIES:
“Two Roads” is an 11-part original series that follows eleven athletes and one coach who have made the commitment to pursue greatness.
Each episode will showcase an athlete’s unique journey within their sport, and truly define the life-changing moments that led them to the path they currently walk.
“Two Roads” features the stories of athletes Bob and Mike Bryan, Paul Rabil, Britney Henry, Kristian Ipsen, Carlin Isles, Trenten Merrill, Casey Patterson, Allison Stokke, Miles Chamley-Watson, Meagan Martin, and Coach Liang Chow.

This is inspiring. I needed more stuff like this as a young girl. The people criticizing this video for being just like the viral photo she didn't like, well, they just aren't thinking it through. When she was 17, she had no control and no agency. Now, she has full control and full agency. She's wearing the clothes she wants to, she's doing exactly what she wants to do. More power to her!!

I like how she's a risk taker and open minded "Whatever choice you make, it's the right choice, because you made it." So beautiful I could cry. She's lives the life she wants. Independent. I love that. I also like how she's a private person and prefers to keep to herself, but doesn't mind showing the world what she's made of when she's on the track.

Beautiful video! My friend and I were discussing, "Whose the greatest athlete of all-time?" just a few months ago. He focused on basketball players, but I chose Sergey Bubka. He asked, "Who is Sergey Bubka?" He then seemed to agree that pole vaulters do something physically absolutely amazing and that it is a full body sport. Today I learned, "Who is Allison Stokke?" Today I'm also thinking about decisions I've made. Thank you for the inspirational video.

GoPro tutorials channel usually releases a BTS video where they explain how they shot the video and what equipment was used. I usually like BTS better than the actual video

Awesome Video, as an athlete I really related to the part of there being no money for what you do (I'm a Swimmer) its reassuring to know other sports are similar. I really took allot away from, "Do it for yourself not for others approval" and "Take something good away from every day at training" Two things I could definitely apply in my training. Good luck in RIO Allison, hopefully you can cash all those hours and bring home the experience of a lifetime.

That is some formidable skill. Pole vaulting has to be one of the most difficult things to do. Allison makes it look easy, but the skill and conditioning takes a lot of time and work.

I wondered about the snapping too. The scariest part seems to be when you are up by the bar and they need to point their toes to the sky and then throw themselves towards the bar😬. That's where you can fall backwards and possibly break bones? I'm out! LOL. But seriously, you have to have respect for the bravery it would take to do that! She is definitely great at it.

Well no duh! That's what you end up doing at the top of women's athletics to make money. You can get SOME money by being champion or one of the consistently top finishers, but you get MUCH more by being attractive instead. Of course, if you get both... Jackpot! Also, she's had many years to come to terms with this fact of life, and get a handle on any self image/esteem/confidence issues she may or may not have had. When you live on sponsorships, your career is to sell a brand, which means being in front of cameras all the time. You either accept that, or you give up a shit-ton of cash.

Not at all. The video is not sex focused.. Yes there are shots of her physique but nothing that any athlete like Usain Bolt wouldn’t show. Athletes always get shots of their physique, running, training etc. That’s the idea of the ad. The fact that she’s attractive is what makes people think she’s exploiting her looks. Imagine this video was not about her but an unattractive random female athlete or a dude If she were relying on her looks she would have dropped that sport a long time ago and focused on “modeling”.
