I read her book. Sergei really took care of her, she was comfortable. She did mention that her struggles were nothing compared to life struggles. She was able to learn how to live after he was gone. I can’t imagine how she’ll grow up as well with Sergei protecting her all the time. Still doesn’t change that fact that I’m still heartbroken for them…

They truly were the best, such a shame that Sergei had to leave this Earth so early.. he deserved more time with his wife and daughter😔 If he lived longer I'm sure they would've won Olympic gold again and we would've enjoyed more of their amazing performances. Such a breathtaking couple on and off ice, so sad they didn't have more time together.

@@masap9080 Yes I Get That Too!. They both were at the Top of their game! both literally and figuratively. However God had that decision to make, not us. We must be Grateful for the Time and the Impeccable Legacy that they gave us. Isn’t it Grand that when they were children a Skating Coach “Paired them Together”?. Even then this Coach saw Greatness in them that probably no one else could see at the time. I Wish that there was a way to Know Who he was? Anyway I believe that Devine Intervention was at work. Their lives were Woven Together too well; like a Match “Made In Heaven”. Oh! Well enough from me. I just wanted to get back to you because you sounded very nice. Мне написала женщина, что жена должна была всё понимать и чувствовать. Я ей так отвечу: что бы чувствовать, надо быть морально и духовно женой! А Екатерина была фанатически влюблена в лёд. IslandGirl 9152 : According to Katia’s book, Sergei’s father, Mikhail, had had four heart attacks in his lifetime. Sergei’s heart attacks could not have been prevented. He had a defective gene in the make up of his body. His arteries of his heart were seen to be completely blocked at his autopsy.

No one back then would have ever thought that a 28-year-old Olympic athlete had a heart problem. No doctor would have ordered a stress test. Don’t know if that is any different now for Olympians in their twenties. His father was in terrible shape compared to Sergei and lived to be 55.

@@ravenel2 I thought Katia said his father was also huge and solid like Sergei? But even then if someone’s father had 4 heart attacks in their life, no matter how old you are or how fit you are someone should have considered that
