• Ambassador Bridge to come down once n... A Frostoshi Film, Subscribe. Gordie Howe International Bridge is scheduled to open by the end of 2024. It will be 1.6 miles long spanning from Detroit, MI to Windsor, Canada. It will have the longest main span of any cable-stayed bridge in North America at 2,799 ft. At a cost of around $5.7 billion. This will replace the aging Ambassador Bridge that was built in 1927 - 1929 and only cost $23.5 million.
The Ambassador Bridge has to be demolished within five years after the new span opens, according to the Canadian government's conditions for the new span. Over and over, Transport Minister Marc Garneau and the government's order-in-council call the new bridge a “replacement” span.Oct 15, 2017

The price of many of those lots is $10 per acre. To build anything on those lots, even a dog 🐕 house 🏠 will cost you millions of dollars 💸 due to the extensive amount of toxic chemicals in the soil from the air pollution that Zug Island steel mills pumped out through the century of operations there. Plus, the additional pollution the Ford Rouge Plant Steel Division furnances pumped out on the other side of Delray. Then there are the other smaller factory shops along W. Jefferson Ave that pumped raw contamination into the dirt. Take, for instance, the Revere Copper and Brass Company formally located near the Edison Electric power 🔌 plant on W. Jefferson. That company played an important part in the country's Manhattan Project. The building of the world's first atomic bomb 💣. There is so much radiation in the soil. In order to dig it up and transfer the radiated dirt to a hazardous waste facility, the radiation would fly into the air and re-contaminate the area around it. It's better to leave sleeping radiation infested dirt to quietly lay there than to contaminate the area around the new Gordy Howe bridge. Why would you want to buy shit land in Delray in the first place? Nothing grows in Delray anymore. Not even weeds.

I can't wait to ride my ten speed and walk🚶‍♂️across the bridge round trip on the pedestrian sidewalk. I did that numerous times on the nearby Ambassador Bridge years ago. Welcome home to Delray Gordy Howe.
