Gordie Howe International Bridge 4k

The Gordie Howe International Bridge is scheduled to open by the end of 2024. It will be 1.6 miles long spanning from Detroit, MI to Windsor, Canada. It will have the longest main span of any cable-stayed bridge in North America at 2,799 ft. At a cost of around $5.7 billion. This will replace the aging Ambassador Bridge that was built in 1927 - 1929 and only cost $23.5 million.
The Ambassador Bridge has to be demolished within five years after the new span opens, according to the Canadian government's conditions for the new span. Over and over, Transport Minister Marc Garneau and the government's order-in-council call the new bridge a “replacement” span.Oct 15, 2017

Epic! It's awesome to see the construction at the top up close like this. This might be the most well documented bridge construction of this size in history when complete.

Now there will be two bridges there: one for empty trucks going to Canada and one for full ones returning. They're already doing that in Port Huron.

@@frostoshi When I was 18, me and my friends would go to Windsor all the time to go the the bars and a strip club one time for a bachelor party. Customs just asked....."Citizenship"...US..."What's the purpose of your visit?" Going to some bars....."Go ahead". No problems in 1990
