The Gordie Howe International Bridge project is a once-in-a-generation undertaking. Not only will the project deliver much-needed transportation improvements for international travellers, it will also provide jobs and opportunities for growth to the Windsor-Detroit region and includes features that make this project truly distinctive.
The project is being delivered through a public-private partnership (P3). A public-private partnership is a long-term performance- based approach to procuring public infrastructure where the private sector assumes a major share of the risks in terms of financing and construction and ensuring effective performance of the infrastructure, from design and planning, to long-term maintenance.

This is my nephew David, I am so proud of this young man and all that he has become. He's a hard worker, a wonderful father and husband. Cannot wait to cross over this bridge and say my nephew helped to build this bridge!! Kudos David xoxo

I have travelled on the Ambassador Bridge hundreds of times but the first time I'll use the Gordie Howe will be a major delight ,as I'll be traveling on The Bridge my Grandson David helped to build. I am beyond proud of you.xo Grampa (Bob Hanes )

I want to congratulate this bridge project on having such great videos with the actual workers who are involved in the building process, not just interviews with white collar, management personnel. These videos are articulate, intelligent, and very informative. To me it reflects the respect which this part of the country, both in the U.S. and Canada, has always shown to labor and to skilled tradesmen. I grew up in a union family in Detroit, and my father was a skilled tradesman who was always proud of his technical skills. So, I appreciate the respect being shown to these guys by featuring them in these videos, and I appreciate the videos for explaining technical details about exactly how this kind of construction is getting done, which I was very curious about. Well done!

I was an ironworker who helped build the Frances Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore Maryland. It was my crowning glory to have worked on it just like this bridge is for you David. I am still saddened the Key Bridge is no longer there due to a shipping accident.

That's awesome 👍🏿 I love bridges and radio tower. When I was younger I should have pursued that career. A friend of mine father had a tower company. And he let me actually paint it while it was on the ground. I'm too old now. I come down all the time and watch the video game building the bridge.

The crane operator presented himself very professionally! The horrible background music makes the camera people look like juveniles and distracts from the project!

My grandson is 10 now, not trying to be nosey, but kind of pay are we talking yearly or hourly???

On us side our operating engineers are in mid 30s an hr. That's what's on the check. all benefits are 100% covered. I am the QC for Protective coatings on the American side and our union painters make 32.51 hr with a pretty good benefits package on top. A journeyman painter in Michigan can expect to be around 70-90 thousand a year depending on overtime.

Crane operator top starting rate its $54 at the moment and this is in Ontario. But it does change depending on which agreement you are working under and size of crane. Our agreements can probably be found online, local 793
