Not very humble but that's good. Never liked people who were extremely good at something, but always downplayed it by being way too humble for their own good.

I think there is a fine line between arrogance and honest perspective. Gordon Ramsay skirts that line, though he has earned every right in the world to be arrogant.

I've never seen Gordon as that arrogant...I honestly think it's more of playing a character when it comes to the TV. He seems very genuine, caring, and passionate about what he does, and that's good enough for me.

Holy crap this entire time I thought Gordon had an inhuman strong stomach to be able to eat all that shitty dirty food and still be standing upright but he got severely sick all those times. And yet some of those owners were so rude and ungrateful. KN is my favorite Gordon program but I'm glad he's letting it go to focus on his own delicious food.

angelisoncrack I heard that he didn't always swallow the food the restaurants served him in order to avoid food poisoning or something. I'm sure he had plenty of rotten food that he digested while making Kitchen Nightmares. I know I enjoyed watching almost every episode. Hopefully he will come back to it in a few years. Kitchen Nightmares is one of my favorite programs on television.

Considering what we saw in some of the kitchens. I'm not surprised. My parent's city used to have a restaurant segment on their news every week - places that got shit scores (sometimes even shut down) were covered. My Dad always knew who to avoid on a given week. Sometimes what was cited was frightening.

Gordon is the only chef who had the balls to withstand the restaurants that tried almost killing him with their food due to incompetence and pompous nature, yet he tried brushing it off to see their potential and make them push forward for their own sake. And it's sad seeing the same owners try to sue him once he leaves their restaurant and mostly giving them an opportunity to success.

As a business owner who's an avid watcher of Kitchen Nightmares and Hotel Hell, I find his general philosophy applicable to almost any business model. You must be passionate about what you do for your business to succeed. As soon as you start getting lazy and stop caring about your customers experience at your business, your business is doomed to fail. Showmanship aside, I really respect Ramsay, his passion for what he does, and his drive to pass that passion on to others who are not so well equipped.

Very similar to Tabatha Coffey's shows with mostly hair salons, but a few other companies. I don't eat in restaurants much and I cut my own hair, but both these shows are still fascinating at how many people can open businesses and totally miss one or more of the main points of running a business. Even people willing to spend 10s or 100s of their own currency, go in debt, sometimes for years, and still not have a clue what to do until the reality show host comes and straightens them out.

I was just thinking this when he explained why the show has now ended. Anyone with a restaurant business should watch these shows as a guide on how to present yourself and how to organise your time and work effectively within different budgets. Sadly many people just have a stack of cash an think it will be a walk in the park or force everyone else to run their family business from what I can see.

Some of the restaurants got hit by the 2008 recession, and a combination of existing debts plus reduced eating out by the public pushed them too far. Every Ramsay video was new and hilarious and shocking {when you thought you couldn't be shocked any more}. As someone who worked in the industry, I was always surprised there aren't more people dropping dead from food poisoning, and NOT SURPRISED two thirds of the eateries shut the doors after a year. I think your apprehension of eating at the next nightmare is a form of PTSD. I was truly sad to see the end of this series. I'm surprised someone hasn't bought the entire series, and made a list of season-episode (and name)-time-category-lesson. From there, people can sort the list by which category occurred the most, and at least avoid doing that in their restaurant. The major ones would likely be: cleaning the kitchen, throwing out the rotten/old food, proper cycling the older food into soups, menu sizes appropriate for the restaurant size, tasting/comparing your food, and paying attention to your staff (listen to their complaints but also fire the problem employees)

fpstina You certainly aren't a great role model though. You have a symbol of hatred as your avatar as well as a racist Trump hat that is also a symbol of hatred. All you are missing is the Confederate flag to complete the look. I'm sorry to say that, but it's the truth.

Bobby Marc typical comment from a conservative goon. All you guys say is "fuck you libtard faggot". You "conservatives" and republicans are all the same. You don't have a shred of decency or soul, yet you claim you're the only ones who have it. All you care about is yourself, nothing else.
