Every student in high school should have one day of civics education by watching 6 hours of KZfaq videos with Gore Vidal in it.

The crack about a Norweigan trying to get a green card? I agree, that was excellent and very true.... What a deliciously articulate, intelligent, and educated man. This series is pure gold. Thank you Mr. Vidal from the bottom of my heart! What a breath of fresh air.

"When was the last time a Norwegian has sought a US greencard?" That sais it all right there. I will be using this question no doubt in the future.

The day after 9/11, the first question that I asked, was Why? As a bartender I watched TV all day for weeks after 9/11. None of the networks ever asked Why. They did Where, What, How, and When... but they never asked Why. I can't think of many news reports that skipped Why in any other case.

People have no voice because they have no interest. They see each politician as one in the same. They see the pundits and the critics as one in the same. So, the people say "Screw this, I don't care what happens down the line until it affects me." That is the real truth.

Off topic: This may seem jejune, but I'm wondering what Vidal is wearing at his collar . Is that an ascot, or a handkerchief ? Whatever is it, I think it looks more civilized than the neo-phallic neckties our society usually dooms us to wearing, and would like to know where I can get this look.

Hey Grey, If some one you don't know comes up and punches you on the nose, once you get over the initial few seconds of shock, I think one of the 1st questions that enters your mind would be, "Why the hell did you do that?" If you don't think that, then you obviously know why. I asked why, makes sense to me.

Senator George Mitchell for President in 2008. He brought peace to Northern Ireland and stopped the suicide bombings in Israel. The only man who can bring peace to Iraq and the Middle East.

@Rico8458 fascism is not a form of socialism, socialism by definition cannot be right wing. Just because the party were called national socialists does not mean they had a socialist bone in their body. What we saw in Germany was a right wing dictatorship. Corporations were booming (Porche,Mercedes,Volkswagen, Ford, Messershmidt, to name the most prominent) and making healthy profits while the Machine was unstoppable. The socialist bit was to get the workers on board.

From 3:49 until the end of the vid truly had me crackin up. "Do you believe in evolution?" said this idiot. "They envy us, our form of gov't." His question of "who envys us?" was my question exactly.

@Rico8458 We are not on the track to Socialism. This country is being led further and further to the right which is what Gore Vidal talks about. The military industrial complex and other corporate interests despise Socialism and certainly would not do anything to promote it because it is the exact opposite of what they hope to achieve. Please learn your political terms before making incorrect statements.

how do we define fascism? capitalism married to corporatism?
@Rico845813 жыл бұрын
good counter points. but fascism is a form of socialism. right wing socialism is what we saw in nazi germany.
