I have been using Tick Killz for a month - last year, I used Cedarcide. Tick Killz is a different formula, even though it has cedar oil in it. So far, it is doing a really good job. Super grateful for it, and it's not bothering my cats - but I believe it is keeping rabbits out of my yard as an added benefit. Some of my hostas might survive without the rabbits chomping them down, which is cool, too.

Interesting, I really hope you have a flea free summer. Yes I’ve seen before that if we eat garlic it can prevent us getting bitten as much by bugs, I’ve never known how true this is or if you would have to be eating lots of garlic, but it’s good you are approaching this from lots of angles to hopefully prevent them. It’s also possible a flea or egg could hitch a ride on you when you’ve been out but I really don’t know how likely this is, but you could also vac out your car to make sure no eggs are hiding 😊

Thank you for all of your comments today! I am going to respond to all of them now. I really hope we have a flea free spring, summer and fall. We have had two fleas already - but that was short lived. Luckily, Charlie is so overreactive that I know pretty fast if he has one. Oh yes, we got fleas when they were much younger, so I didn't let them outside for one season - and we still got them. You wouldn't believe the efforts I go to to avoid flea problems.

Will it contaminate water sources. Its best that it doesn't kill any of the good insects or wildlife. I used organic products, ladybugs and other natural creatures that eat the pests. My yard became self sufficient and had no problems until the day I sold.

I’ll check with the company for you, but haven’t seen a problem with beneficial ones. I’ve applied nematodes too. And a fertilizer that helps the microbiome of your soil, feeds the nematodes and more. I promise you, though, that my Charlie is a VERY difficult case. What you did for your yard would probably work just fine for my Trigg.

@@Floppycats I have an engineering degree and always research everything. I wanted my yard to be a haven without the harmful pests but with all the things a natural environment needs to flourish. I don't even use products in the house that can harm me or my pets. However not all places can be perfect. Fleas and roaches became a huge problem during covid. We had serious problems when sanitation was not getting removed and too many people brought in dogs to my area without doing flea prevention.

That is a great question, WARNINGS AND CAUTIONS CAUTION: Keep out of reach of children and pets. "do not spray them down" Not recommended for fruit trees or edible crops. Do not spray into bodies of water. **FOR OUTDOOR USE ONLY** other then that it is completely safe and does not harm beneficials, Bees, butterflies, ladybugs, etc..

@rockymountainbioag sells more than just this Tick Killz product - most of their products are about creating a great microbiome, so that the soil flourishes. With Charlie's severe flea reactions, I cannot afford to wait for nematodes to work anymore, unfortunately. So I have stopped spraying them - but did put down a product they make that helps feed the nematodes already in your soil.@@dm5341

YES! It's more expensive, for sure, but so far, so good. I think it's because the lactic acid holds the cedar oil and peppermint oil together.

I just sprayed the cedarcide a few days ago but was wondering how effective it was because there was absolutely no scent 😂

@@mac8a1 Really? I still have some and it's pretty potent! Or do you mean once it was sprayed there was no scent? Or was it the concentrate that didn't have a scent?
