Another song from the Early Dimash is his peformances of "The Diva Dance" - there are 3 : the one from this same concert, the one from his appearance on The Singer 2017, combined with Italian rock song, "Confessa" and then my ultimate favorite. He sings it at the Spring Festival break while working on The Singer. He does it as a duet with Li Yugang, a male star of the Beijing Opera who specializes in the female, "nandan", roles. They combine the Chinese Opera classic "Drunken Concubine" with "The Diva Dance" in a way that will BLOW YOUR MIND !!!

This song was written by the woman who adopted the little boy who lost both his parents in the terrible accident. Dimash contacted her to get permission to sing it. So this is not a fantasy but a true story.

Thank you. This is a true story. A 2 1/2 yr old boy was with his parents on a overcrowded cable car. It broke loose and the parents were able to hand the boy off the cable car before plunging to their deaths. Han Hung, a well known singer/song writer in China, heard about it and adopted the boy. She then wrote this song from his point of view. Dimash had heard this song and was deeply touched by it. He got permission from her to sing it on 'I Am Singer' show. Dimash ended up very ill and lost his voice. He had to get throat injections and was able to deliver a very moving performance, though in great pain. He immediately lost his voice again right after performing. Soon after that show ended, Dimash gave his fantastic concert in Bastau. He clearly is not ill while performing 'Daybreak' here! This is an incredible and moving vocal from Dimash. I can't imagine anyone else doing this anywhere close to what Dimash did in this performance. Jaw dropping.

I really like Dimash's performance of Daybreak from I am Singer with backstory. That one is more raw and you can feel the pain emanating from his eyes in that one. This Bastau performance is more technically perfect...just perfection 🥰🎼💕

“Daybreak” - At his first concert in Bastau: This song tells the sad story of a Chinese boy (Quon Yan), who along with his family, suffered a cable car accident in Xingyi city in Guizhou province, where many people died, but the boy's parents held him up with their hands and he survived, though the parents died. The song was written and composed by the boy's adoptive mother (Han Hong) and Dimash sang the song for the first time in Mandarin on “The Singer 2017”, but he had a sore throat and sang through injections. The doctor said that if he sang high notes, he would never sing again... He sang! Then he made this wonderful version, already cured, at his show in Bastau!

On The Singer 2017, when he sang this while very ill, he had no voice before and had to have 5 injections into his throat. He said it didn't help when he got back to the studio. But, he had to perform. Somehow, his voice came back just before his performance, which he said felt like singing through broken glass. After, the doctor berated him for singing high notes. He told the doctor, "These weren't my high notes." For three days after, he had no voice again, but he did recover fully. Bastau was in the same year, but after he recovered. Also, Dimash first heard this song when he was 10, and it made him shake with emotion. It had been special to him since then.

What a tragic true story. Thank God there was someone there to adopt that sweet little boy to let him know that everything would be okay. I remember this accident, and it broke my heart. So many of Dimash's songs have true stories behind them that will make you just cry.

All those aspects of performance coming together like you describe; that's all him. He's a master of knowing how to use these element to elicit the desired effect and emotion and he's very involved in all of it. He doesn't just let the lighting guys do the lighting thinking it'll be okay. He goes over it with them and discusses his vision. He will guide everyone around him on the proper details.

Dimash first heard this song when he was 10 years old & it never left him. The story behind it & the emotion involved made him determined that he would perform this song one day. When he did this in the Singer competition, he was ill & yet still had audience members crying. I'm surprised you hadn't heard this one before. It is one of his best. Thank you so much 😊🙏💞

For performances that shows different sides to Dimash than you've not been exposed to a lot... - "Samaltau"(Kazakh folk song) from the Tokyo Jazz Festival(2020), it's filmed in his home studio. - Vocalise version of "Know"(aka. "Ascolta La Voce") from his Arnau Concert in Kiev - "I'll Die for the Wind of the Mountains"(Armenian folk song) from his Stranger Concert in Yerevan(HQ fancam by Dia Linwen) - "All By Myself"(Cover) from his Arnau Concert in NY, it's a bit more playful and fun. ...And I really hope you'll continue the Ultimate Dimash Guide by LiLaSi at some point, it's an important watch I think. She recently did a 3-part "mini-series" in a similar format of Dimash singing acapella, improvising, playing instruments, etc, that I think you'll love(it's separate from the guide so no need to watch it first).

Id Die For the Wind in the Mountains. He sang this Armenian song live in Turkey last year. He had only only a day to learn it and wasn't sure he would attempt it....but he did. It never ceases to amaze me how he can so immerse himself into the soul of a song and capture it along with ours. Great reaction. Its impotant to underdtand the story behind this song. Ive never seen such a delivery as this. Just amazing ....and always brings a tear...

Fantastic Reaction!! The Concert at Bastau: After his amazing success in the Chinese show "The Singer" the Kazakhstan Government decided to sponsor this, his first solo concert!! Around 35,000 fans came to Astana, Kazakhstan from many different countries to see this fantastic concert in 2017. The song, originally written and performed by Han Hong (famous Chinese composer) is based on the rescue of an orphan whose parents lost their lives in a cable car accident, in which they lifted him to safety before the carriage fell. Han Hong later adopted the child and memorialized the incident in this song.

Dimash is a complete master at how he presents his songs. This song became very personal to him because of the story of the cable car accident in China where a father was able to save his son and the father and his wife died when the cable car fell. The woman that wrote this song adopted that little boy. The reason there was a rainfall behind him is because it was raining when the accident happened. He first sang this song at "The Singer" where he got discovered. The day before, he got sick and he lost his voice and he struggled with that because the next song that he was going to sing was this song. He did NOT want to disappoint and not do the song because he felt he needed to give it respect. He went to a doctor and they did acupuncture but told him that if he sang that song, that it could hurt his throat more, but he went on the next day and amazed everyone with his performance, as he always does! My next recommendation? I know that you previously did "Know" but you should really react to "Know-Vocalize". You should watch the Know video and then react to Know-Vocalize right after so you can see what he did. It's still by far my favorite performance of his. Just gives me goosebumps each and every time!

This version really shakes me up well; the passion! Notice the security guard at 05:08 turning to see Dimash's actual face as he performs. I don't think he can believe what he's hearing! What a wonderful review of this song my friend, well done!
