11:39 THAT is the best engine move because it salvages stalemate out of black's losing position. As we all know, en passant is forced, and since the pawn is pinned, white has no legal moves and therefore the game ends in a draw.

Find an opening you like and get familiar with the main line and most common side lines, developing your pieces the right way will make your entire game more fluent because your pieces will be working together even though you won’t see it right away. I found books where they deeply analyse games helps so much with with understanding what is happening and making your own plans. As they say a good start is half the battle.

1500 is around “beginner” level, it’s basically where you’ve not read any books, or done deep study but you’ve learnt enough about the game so you don’t make many obvious blunders or miss obvious tactics, it’s really difficult to improve from 1500 without putting in a bit of work outside just playing games

What’s great is that both of these players probably had fun in this game. You don’t have to be good at something to enjoy it. Tennis is a great example. You can have a lot of fun as a recreational tennis player as long as you’re playing someone at or slightly above your level. To a top ten player it doesn’t even look like tennis, just random movement where the ball sometimes ends up going over the net. But it’s still fun for the players. Here, to Levy, it might look like (to use a description he used from a previous video) “two animals in a zoo cage throwing feces at each other”, but to the players it all makes sense and they are having a great time.

I disagree lol. They might have had fun but by killing chess. I mean these two for a long time are at 500 level. But players like us improved without any theory, no tactics training, no strategy (at least I didn't have these). They must be at least 1200 for the number of games they played. Now they aren't and playing like absolute noob, it means they have 0 % interest.

@@animezoneamv9116 consider this: during the US Open or Wimbledon when the stands are filled with people paying to see the event and advertisers are paying to get to the tv and streaming audiences, those people are the tennis equivalent of these two chess players. They are recreational players that enjoy the game but are not very good. But without them there is no audience, no payments for the participants, and the game dies. Chess needs a constant stream of 500 elo players with their crazy moves and wild games, because they subscribe and buy merch and expand the game to a wider audience.

The most important move of the game was 5. Na3. This knight and the Black bishop hanging out on f8 were the real story behind this game. Both saw a lot of activity near them, and each had opportunities to launch devastating attacks, but instead they opted to lounge around and stay put for pretty much the whole game. Try not to see yourself as a victim to life or circumstances but rather realize you are the creator of your story and you can affect more positive change every day by trying to get 1% better every day. Be the person you want to become whenever you notice yourself not being true to who you are. Try and be grateful for the opportunities you have available to you and for the positive things you have in your life and be grateful for the opportunity to help others. In doing so, you will almost certainly feel better about your own situation and control (or lack thereof) over your circumstances.

@QuotePilgrim
@QuotePilgrim 2 жыл бұрын
@@valinorean4816 Of course it does. The way rating systems work, there's no way you can possibly make them match across multiple different player bases. A rating is a relative measure of your skill compared to the other people in the same player pool. In theory, if you had a group of like a thousand beginners playing chess against each other and use a system like Elo or Glicko to rate them, eventually the strongest ones will be rated about 2800 to 3000 even if they're weaker than someone who's rated 1000 on CDC or Lichess. And besides, Lichess uses a different rating system from CDC. The latter used Glicko-1 (not Elo, despite people insisting on use that term), while Lichess uses Glicko-2 which improves upon Glicko-1. Lichess also sets players initial rating to 1500, as recommended by category paper which describes the system, while CDC sets it to 400 IIRC, and since the initial rating affects the ratings distribution, that also accounts for the difference being as big as it is.

Hi Levy!! Hope you're doing well. I had a question. I play chess with a much higher rated friend(They're 2200, I'm 1200). I got extremely close to winning in a recent game we played but I unfortunately lost. I think it would be a good game to analyze in a video. I think it would activate some hope in the lower rated chess community that they can grow and get winning positions against a higher opponent. Can I send you the game through the chat or email or another source? If you have other plans for the channel, 100% get it. Sorry this was so long. Thanks for the great content!

I gotta be honest. I unsubbed because of these clickbait titles.
