I want to say a massive THANK YOU for this video which has given me years of mini discs of family videos from 15 years ago. I bought a Pansonic DMR-EZ48V which plays the mini disc but ONLY if they are finalised. I also bought a power cable for my old (but it still works perfectly) Sony Handycam DVD 202. None of the above would have worked with the finalisation. I’d watch lots of other videos but yours was succinct, clear, detailed and easy. Big thanks again!

Thank you for the video. I’m having trouble deleting the videos in the camera. There is not option to delete. I ended up finalizing it afterwards because im learning how to use it. However I would love know how to delete a video in the future in case I don’t like it etc. is that possible?

Once finalized that’s it. Can’t change anything.

It depends which version of the sony handycam you have; the DVD-DSC403 allows you to unfinalize a disc (and then potentially record over it) ONLY if you are using a DVD-RW mini-disc (DVD-R will not unfinalize).

my camera keeps saying battery level is low, but i have charged both the actually battery and the camera for hours. i’m not sure what to do pls help

I can, but lots of questions ahead of time, you’ll need to submit a quote via gotmemories.com & I’ll need a photo of the data side of the DVDs, if they’re scratched or have disc rot, complicates the recovery efforts and pricing starts for data recovery of non finalized discs is $75.

Which version of the Sony Handycam are you using in this video? I am trying to replace mine - it was lost by my child, and I don't have the exact version but yours & the screen looks just like the one I had...

I don’t have the exact model number to that camera but go on eBay and type in Sony dvd camcorder and try to look for that same looking one.

My camera is saying that the disc is finalized but isn’t able to play on the dvd player? How can I fix it?

That’s common, only way is to run it through the camcorder into the tv

Or just send the discs off to be digitized.
