Idea.. Make a craft that goes fast with hydrofoils to reduce drag -- but when it has taken about 5% damage it dives -- and surfaces again if it has taken like 15% damage.. Can be done?

@@NearQuasar Good quesion.. "For fun and profit." It would be kinda realistic and IMHO cool.. AFAIK real life WW2 submarines operated bit like that. You would run on surface to better catch a convoy and if/when facing gun armed surface ships you would dive to avoid gunfire and if/when damaged by depth charged you'd be forced to surface and surrender.. And in FTD it would give some advantages -- speed is good for outrunning torpedoes and CRAMS -- now if you're taking damage anyway being hit by incendiaries lasers whatever - it might be better to dive.. And AFAIK there's

@@Jawzah Being underwater is an even better against crams and if you surface, you lose every advantage a submarine has.

@@NearQuasar Sure crams are not good against submarines or fast ships.. Mortars might be an exception as they strike from above and thus won't bounce from surface or need to go trough as much water.. But fast skimmer is probably better against torpedoes than a submarine and if the vehicle at 85% health staying underwater means only 5% more health is needed to trigger the "autoscrapping" while if you surface it's 40% -- so you multiply the effective remaining health by 8 by surfacing.. Kind of - of course t 60% health your vehicle i not that likely to fight effectively but I still think it's worth hawing the sub surface somewhere between 85% and 81% remaining health.. (Dunno if it count health points or blocks - I think it used to be block but it might have been changed o nerf blockspam strategies where you'd spam low cost blocks in the innards)..

Just a warning with the fuel. A 1 fuel block will burn 3x3x3 blocks around it even if it's surrounded by blocks. So at 35:00 one destroyed fuel cell will damage the others through the metal! (Not sure if the devs intended this). Also maybe an idea: The side propellors could be on a spin block at an angle to give 100% clearance (rather than losing 50% thrust) or stick them to the side of the ship.
