Being a Blues fan, I very distinctly remember watching this goal and texting like 6 people commenting "well that was disgusting." Like, couldn't be mad, was an absolutely fantastic goal. One hell of a game that forced a game 6 that 30 minutes prior to this goal, I didn't think I'd get to watch

This has to be one of the best goals I've ever seen. Just everything about it. His skating and puck control, end to end and that puck wasn't an easy one to handle as he took his shot. I can't stop watching this. His crossovers through the neutral zone??!! Just pure power.

Still get chills watching this one. Easily one of the greatest goals ever. At the time it felt like the Avs had 100% already won just from that goal alone, and somehow the Blues managed to steal it from them! Just watching a legend do legendary things...

This might be strange but as a Red Wings fan I couldn’t be happier for the Avs. You guys 100% deserve the cup and it’s great to see a team finally take out the lightning. Hopefully one day we’ll see a Wings/Avs final

I am a diehard Avs fan that truly fell in love with hockey during the height of the greatest rivalry of the past 30 years in sports. I would kill to see an Avs wings final. I would also have to surrender all of my credit cards to my wife’s so I do not pay way too much for a ticket to a game if the Avs have a chance to clinch it at home. I would also need tranquilizers, and to be kept away from anything red. The league was better off having both Colorado and Detroit be very very good. I just hope Detroits window opens before the one for the Avs closes.

Back to watch this goal. It's one that will forever be burned into my brain. I've been watching hockey for close to 30 years and i can honestly say, the most amazing goal I've ever seen in my life. I make my children watch it. ... Over and over again. I make sure when we see these guys play live, they know exactly what they are witnessing. The absolute best players in the world. Just incredible that we get to see them play in our lifetime.

He picks up the puck behind his own net and crosses his own goal line with about 2:53 on the clock. When the puck hits the back of the net the clock reads 2:47. He covered the full length of the ice in 6 seconds while carrying the puck, skating around the Blues forward and completely undressing the defenseman.

100%, just like the 1962 final. Hull scored in the 3rd period of game 6 and the fans at Chicago Stadium threw so much stuff on the ice there was a sizeable delay to clean it all up; Leafs settle down and regroup with the free timeout, then went on to score two goals in 5 minutes to win the cup.

Words cannot describe the pit I felt in my stomach after this goal, and then the joy I felt just 90 seconds later. An absolute rollercoaster of a game, and the Blues stay alive!

I'm not a hockey fan (I maybe watch a few playoffs/finals games if I see the score is close, and I don't know the rules very well, etc.) I think I was watching an NBA playoff game or something, and tuned over to this game, and within about 30 seconds I saw this play, WOW! My jaw dropped...like I said, I'm not a hockey fan, but just being generally a sports fan, I was so glad I saw this effort in real time and know it was very special.

Commentators like "One of the best playoff goals I've ever seen" . I'd call it one of the best goals I've ever seen regardless whether it be playoff or regular season . Just like we all were hoping for the battle of Alberta to line up in the second round . I think I can speak for most when I say I want to see a MacKinnon vs McDavid matchup happen in the 3rd round that'd be epic .

I think I've watched this goal 100 times, and I'll probably watch it 100 more. His speed was incredible, it looked like he was in fast forward. To make the decisions he made at that speed seems impossible.

McDavid is pure speed but Mackinnon is the most explosive player in the league. The way he just turns it on from 0 to 100 really reminds of of how prime Bure used to skate. Unreal.

Blues fan here. I knew we couldn't shut him down all series. I thought it was game over here but this was one of the sickest playoff goals I've seen. Husso shouldn't have given him anything on the near side but that play was so sick I wasn't even mad. Legit can't believe we scored that 6 on 5 to tie it then win in OT. Coming back to STL. We could tie up the series then anything can happen in Game 7.

glad it was over in 6, the avs would have not made it through a 7th. Hoping the oilers don't resort to injuring our players like the blues did, no offense. Every team makes dirty plays, but the one on bennington just didnt compare to what happened to girard in my opinion.
