The Capitals announcers are great. They know the game and usually they aren't huge homers that ruin the broadcast for everyone. Boston announcers could learn thing or two from Joe B and Locker.

Yup in the 90s the only dirty hits were no puck there or blatant elbows to head. I remember getting yelled at for passing the puck badly to a teammate and setting him up to be destroyed. Suicide pass they called them 😂

Isles FTW This is a great way to state someone’s opinion, I’ve seen WAY too many “I hope someone breaks Tom’s ---” and then they insert whatever they want. What you did is fresh and a good way to state an opinion.

It's could've been charging because Wilson lands after the hit meaning he left his feet but it was probably only half an inch but yeah can't stand Wilson but good hit

Completely clean and a thing of beauty! I've really liked how Wilson has changed his game this season. He is no longer that guy that just runs around all over the place like a chicken with his head cut off. He actually uses his speed and plays good hard hockey that really helps clear up room for his teammates. Hope he continues doing so

He's come along really nicely. He's picked up his defensive game, has gotten lots of good scoring chances, and still plays that physical style (which you can see here).

One of the Best hitters in NHL. Basically every hit is clean, but packs a huge punch and plays a huge role in the game or even in a playoff series (aka hit on Visnovsky in NYI series last year) Hope Zadorov is okay but what a great hit

Would you rather they all quietly go "oh, well that was a rather large hit... the player is now just down on the ice, he could be injured" Joe B is awesome. He knows hockey inside and out, and offers so much insight even to those of us who know the game, he is very very fair and isn't a homer at all, and he is exciting to listen to. Best commentator in the NHL right now, hands down. And I'm not a Caps fan.

Clean hit from this Avs fan. There's a bit of head contact but I think that's a result of the position Zadorov puts himself in. He's reaching out for the puck which puts his head at a lower point than usual. Wilson doesn't take a extra stride right before the hit or leave his feet. He also doesn't target the head or come from a blindside. Zadorov is in possession of the puck, so he's eligible to get hit. Good hit. Hope Z recovers quickly.

That must have been a fun game to be at. Caps had 83 shot attepmts, hit 5 posts, and Varlamov made like 6 incredible saves. Plus the Avalanche almost tied it late in the third period.

Just because you can.... doesn’t mean you should... and I’ve played league hockey for over 20 years. Somebody is going to be paralyzed or killed one day with hits like this. And I don’t want to hear.... well, he had his head down... guess what, there are always moment’s in hockey when your head is down, it’s unavoidable at times.

Clean hit for sure. Breaks stride in plenty of time and actually hits the breaks right as he's laying the check. Textbook catching a guy with his head down and knocking the wind outta him!
