@@therealjulez7886 I'm assuming it's in your foot like me and most people. Stay off your feet. Go to the bathroom when you need to and make very easy to make meals and then immediately sit down. Anything which stimulates that area of the acid abundance will make it much worse. Drink a TON of water. It's gonna be okay. 💜

@@CrustaceousB Yes lots of pain in my big toe :( did u have to change ur diet? what are u eating to make the symptoms go away quick? Thanks friend

@@therealjulez7886 from my understanding, the proper diet isn't going to make the gout go away, but will prevent it from getting worse. Alot of water will help to flush it out but what youre eating right now is about defence so you don't get worse. I would avoid red meats and pork. Fresh produce is good, nuts, dairy, grains like rice and bread. Chicken and poultry is okay in moderation. Absolutely no alcohol. No sugary drinks or desserts. Purine is what you want to avoid. If you google "foods low in purine" and "foods high in purine" you'll find exactly what to avoid and what is safe to consume. Some sources are saying turkey is bad and so is alot of fish.

The extreme pain of a gout flare is an alarm signal that something in the body is seriously wrong. It is up to the doctor to figure out the underlying cause, as recommended by Terkeltaub and Edwards in their book about gout. If there is no investigation into the cause of gout, prescribing NSAIDs just muffles the alarm, and prescribing urate lowering drugs such as allopurinol just disables the alarm. Nowadays, in a small minority of cases gout is the warning of lead toxicity. In a large majority of cases it is the warning of chronic intermittent hypoxemia from sleep apnea, which is why most gout flares originate during sleep. The hypoxemia leads to gout by: generation of much excess uric acid from all oxygen-starved cells; serum acidosis which makes serum uric acid more likely to precipitate as the monosodium urate crystals which directly cause a gout flare; increase in serum lactate, which leads to URAT1 reducing renal reabsorption of uric acid; and gradual reduction of the glomerular filtration rate which slows the removal of uric acid from the blood. One of the first things that should be done when gout first occurs is a sleep study, followed by effective sleep apnea treatment when warranted, after which the hypoxemic causes of gout flares will no longer occur. If the sleep apnea goes unresolved for too long, the patient’s risk will be significantly elevated for developing the many life-threatening consequences of sleep apnea, which usually are misunderstood to be metabolic comorbidities of gout, and lead to a shortened lifespan, even with the use of urate lowering drugs. Gout is an early warning! Resolving the sleep apnea should result in no more gout flares. Urate lowering drugs will then probably be needed to accelerate the dissolution of all the urate crystals throughout the body that accumulated from all the previous apneic episodes. More information is available on KZfaq, titled Gout is an Early Warning of Sleep Apnea.

@Burton abrams hello sir, what is the idea of taking allopurinol daily? Is it safe to take from your experience?? Your reply helps
@burtonabrams7476
@burtonabrams7476 Жыл бұрын
@@pram9832 Thank you for your question. In general, allopurinol is safe, although there are rare cases of allopurinol sensitivity with high mortality. Allopurinol in the proper dosage suppresses cellular generation of uric acid to keep serum uric acid low enough to usually prevent the urate precipitation which causes gout. It disables the alarm signal provided by the gout pain. As a result, mortality from gout's life-threatening comorbidities (cardiovascular diseases, kidney disease, hypertension, diabetes, cancer, etc.) still remains high. Early resolution of obstructive sleep apnea, the underlying cause of most gout, greatly reduces the risk for developing these diseases, and prevents future flares of gout as well.

@@burtonabrams7476 So we can take allopurinol daily to avoid further complications right?? Do you say it safe drug to use for life long to avoid further complications?? Tell about some diet also sir.
@burtonabrams7476
@burtonabrams7476 Жыл бұрын
@@pram9832 Taking allopurinol helps to avoid only those complications that are caused directly by excess uric acid. Maintaining a diet low in animal purines, sugars containing fructose, and alcoholic beverages helps a little. But none of those actions suppresses obstructive sleep apnea. That needs to be diagnosed and treated by a sleep physician. If the sleep apnea is left untreated for too long, the risk for developing the life-threatening diseases that i mentioned before will be greatly elevated, and probably lead to premature death. That's why so many gout sufferers die prematurely, even those using allopurinol and maintaining a good diet. Gout sufferers ironically are fortunate to have the early warning of sleep apnea that gout provides.
