Warrens always gets me, but Sco just absolutely turned this inside and out. Nothing risk averse here. Nobody's going for perfection. Loved it.

This is fantastic. One of the few times I've seen the Sco out of his comfort zone. Played in, got a bit lost, came back in again. But Warren laid that shit down. Great performance.

Schofield is never predictable... kinda like your Italian grandmothers tomato sauce... decades of tweaking, and trial and error... until finally - perfection.

This is great. Scofield is excellent, and I think this is as well as I've heard Warren solo on it, which says a lot.

Warren Haynes!!! Warren seems to be a very humble man, he always gives a stage to other guys (not that Marc Ford, Jimmy Herring or Derek Trucks are not worth it...))) ), but still: I wish Warren would play a little bit more solo, because he's amazing guitarist - and here he really did it! Great song, great performance!

Warren Shows here that he is a faithful follower of Brother Duane….🙏amen…CHURCH…AMEN….alright! My 75 year old ass just got out the shower and picked my phone up(Bose sound flex spkr) to Warren gettin’ way up on that neck makin’ that baby warble… got the damn goosers because he sounded like Duane!!!!(I saw Duane 9/18/71….actually saw the whole damn Allman Brothers Band)👏👏👏

It's funny how protective we can get with our favorite songs. "Dreams" is a song that I couldn't possibly calculate in terms of # of times I've heard it. I've always been one to play songs over and over and over, back to back. I know every nuance of this song and it continues to move me +five decades now. With that said, I have immense respect for Sco. But, here comes the "screech from the record needle", I think his performance here is an abomination to this song. After a minute, I lost track of the sour notes. And then with the 'running up and down' the scales thing with the jazz and fusion style (always a great excuse for wrong notes) over a southern blues tune... Well, it just doesn't work - at least for me. Judging by the comments, I'm not alone in my opinion.

Everybody keeps sayin', "Sco is so good..." What about Warren? He's awesome! Warren took this stage!

... and he played Derek's part just like Derek would have, no pick.

Bill Young , you do mean Duane’s part I hope

Honestly I didn’t expect Scofield to struggle finding his way early on in a song that’s based on 2 chords. I realize he’s a jazz guy, so he plays in the sandbox of “wrong notes.” But that first few minutes of his solo was painful.
@heythatsprettynoice65 Жыл бұрын
i think his phrasing falls outside of what's traditional for the genre, i think a little more exposure to jazz would help contextualize what he's going for

I'm with you Sam.

People complaining about Sco or Warren or Duane and who's best all have shit in their ears and brains. They all could play with anybody, only Sco actually did. Great show and contrast between the two great guitar players.

The 8 "thumbs down" as of today are all metal head shredders complaining about "boring pentatonic" ;)
@stratolestele7611 Жыл бұрын
Lol - there's nothing pentatonic about the solos
@enorbet2 Жыл бұрын
@@stratolestele7611 Duh. That wasn't the point. The point actually is just about the mindset that bitches and moans and lumps everything into a simplistic formula because "Speed is King" (more sarc just in case you needed the clue) .

Supposedly the only song that Gregg brought to the band when he finally joined them
@stratolestele7611 Жыл бұрын
According to my account, it was Duane's solo of this that got him the gig with the others, and then he proceeded to bring Gregg in. No Gregg wasn't exactly a prolific songwriter per se, but the blues is always songwriting. There is no way that another keyboard/vocalist could have made the band what they became. It's like Ringo, the Edge, etc. People like to question their contribution, or talent, and it couldn't be more off-base.

Scofield ain’t even close to Haynes and trucks. My man scofield vastly overrated. Matt abts is weak on this track. Get me a real drummer yo

How does Dickie keep gettin' left out of the All man references? After all, he and Duane were the originals on this tune. And Warren played alongside Dickie for a bunch of years.
