In this video, Chris unboxes and demonstrates the 2023 Govee Christmas String Lights which can be used indoors or out. The lights work with the standard Govee app and they integrate with all other lights in the Govee ecosystem.

Thank you for your honest review, my 66 foot string had the same voltage drop and it was very noticeable on my Christmas tree.

I suppose everything has its place. These look amazing on white vinyl fencing around our decks. The clear / silver wires almost disappear during the day. I'm not sure what the material is that they use in the wire coating, but it's not a typical plastic; it has a bit of a rubberized quality. It kind of grips to a fence, pole, tree. So, highly recommend for use on white viny fencing. Happy holidays, and festive decorating! 🎄

Thank you for another informative video Chris. Interesting. Yeah I’m not a fan of the color of the wires. They should make them dark green. Wow, the technology of decorated lighting has come along way!

You should definitely check out the Twinkly lights because you get a lot more control over effects

I really wish you could add more lights to the end, I hung a string on my garage ceiling and want to add more, but will have to come up with a different power supply for the ceiling

Thanks for another great video. Is there a way to map it? When you have it on the floor each half is a different color.

You can set the color of each individual light if you want.

How would they work if you wanted to do a default of white or white and red most of the time and have the option of all the fun modes for Christmas day or when you have people over? Would you consider these lights for that use case?

The app has a DIY mode where you can set colors by segment, or by individual pixels. So you can set them to alternating red and white, and even have them in a slow chase pattern, then save that as a favorite to use on “normal” circumstances, then go crazy on Christmas morning using their built-in scene or music reactive.

Hi there, in your opinion, would these lights show up outside draped on a fence?? Just want to make sure they are bright enough, but they look great on your tree. Thanks for the video

I have 3 palm trees. i wanna buy three of the christmas string lights to use them on the plam threes outside. Hownwould i plug them in thought, do i need an extension cord that plugs in multiple lights?

I use ungrounded (technically made for indoor) brown extension cords between bushes. They have 3 outlets on the female end so I can plug in the lights and another extension cord to the next bush/tree.

You mentioned you can customize each individual light. While I feel that would be time-consuming, but I could make it like regular Christmas lights, where each light has a different color? I assume you can save this DIY setting ?

Yes it is a DIY setting. You can set each individual light and have them solid or animated.

Wires should have been Dark Green to blend with the tree like most Xmas tree lights. Try pushing the lights a little deeper into the tree maybe

There’s no customization of their built-in scenes. But there’s a complete DIY mode which allows complete customization. I am a WLED bigot so I didn’t really take a lot of time to learn the Govee app very well.

Can you make a nice warm white with these lights?

They can be any of 16 million colors. You can tweak the exact white you like, but it will be created by mixing tiny red, green and blue lights.

They come in two sizes: 33 and 66 feet.

A white or silver tree would look better. But it would look better on the green tree with ornaments and garland.

This is the problem with govee products. Daisy chaining is always so limited. Along with the lack of green cables (seriously?) it just seems like they phoned this product in.

That’s true. I didn’t spend a lot of time playing with the app. I didn’t like what little I saw. But I’d be happy to pay you to make a video proving me wrong. Show me what it can do when integrating multiple products.
