Come with me for a 24 mile trail run along the coast of Gower Peninsula in South Wales, the UK's first AONB (area of outstanding natural beauty). Discover why I found it so hard!
We run from Rhossili Bay to the Mumbles on the Gower Peninsula, taking in Overton Cliff, Port Eynon Bay, Oxwich point, Pennard Castle, Caswell Bay and Langland Bay.

Well done Julian this event looks right up my street but it’s a shame it’s not a full marathon, don’t beat yourself up about the time, it’s a good way to spend 7hrs

Julian, Are you using a HR strap or arm band. I find my HR spikes when using my watch, sometimes its a strange phenomenon called Cadence Lock, as the watch moves on your wrist it can sync the HR with your Cadence instead of a true HR. Usually easy to identify if you walk for a few strides your HR will suddenly drop back down rather than gently drop. Great video and info as usual.

Thanks for this - no strap, just the watch. I'd not heard of cadence lock, but my experience is that the watch is pretty good! But I will watch out for that!

Great question! I started about 12 years ago, aged 49, couch to 5k on roads - why don't I do a short video on my journey?

@@julianberry that's a good idea, I am 55i want to do a mini ultra, but all the YT vids aren't really for the more mature runner(old). Even been a glasses wearer has issues when running. ☺️☺️☺️
