I pushed the envelope a bit this winter but finally installed my snow removal equipment on the Kubota LX2610 Compact Tractor. The video is long, as many asked for a detailed install, and I include the mistakes I still make after 5 winters, when installing my snow removal equipment. I hope it is helpful. I install the Kubota LX2980 Commercial Front Mount Snow Blower and Land Pride RB1672 Hydraulic Rear Blade. Happy Holidays and all the best for 2022!

One thing these tractors need is an emergency brake warning light. Also one for 4 wheel drive is engaged.

I have a L6060 with the front blower. The blower is 7ft. The blower and the frame are each so heavy I can only move them with the tractor loader. When I want to go from front loader to the blower, I first pre-position both the blower and the frame on my equipment trailer with the tractor. After I dismount the loader assembly on the ground, I then pull the tractor up onto the trailer and attach the frame and then the blower to the frame. Being able to use the trailer deck as a jacking surface and the side rail pockets for a come-along if necessary makes things much easier than working off the ground.

@GP Outdoors, I'd like to call your attention to the exhaust heat shield on the right side of your tractor's frame, seen at 17:00. The LX snow blowers come with 2 heat shields. One for the LX2610, which has its exhaust pipe on the left side. One for the LX3310, which has its exhaust pipe on the right side. You don't need both. You can remove that heat shield from the right side, which will give you a little more breathing room when routing your hydraulic lines.

Nice job, as usual. My only tip, if I may be so bold, is to suggest you grease those zerks as you put it away in the warmer weather in the spring as you take it off. I’ve found it’s a much more pleasant job in the spring and the grease flows just a bit easier. That’s also when I line the chute and give the chain etc. a nice coating of oil/lube to slow rust and get things ready for the fall/winter hook up. Keep up the great work!

That fresh grease will push out any moisture in those bearings and keep them from rusting in the summer, doing it before storage is the better idea like you said.

The level ground is also important for putting the loader back on. I left my loader on a pad by my house BUT the tractor was on the grass and wasn’t level. It came off fine, but it was an inch or so too high on one side when going to put it back on. What a pain in the butt it was to get it back on after using blocks of wood to get the thing to twist right to latch in.

Hi Gord, Enjoy the unseasonably warm winter. In Calgary and the rest of Alberta it is unseasonably COLD -30 C. We typically are 15 to 20 C warmer. Interestingly enough if you took your blower off and put it on every month it would become a breeze for you. Twice a year just isn’t enough to form a routine in our memories. Have a great holiday season and don’t worry that snow is definitely coming.

Greetings Gord, Lee here, great video, I keep making mistakes after 18 years doing this. You mentioned about forgetting the parking brake on, I used to have that problem until I put a backup beeper wired to a micro switch on the brake release lever, so I never have that problem any longer. Hi Gord! I always enjoyed the winter prep. 2 things I've learned over the years, and suggestions I have - 1. After the loader is disconnected mechanically, run the support arms back in to protect your lift cylinders from many things, like dust and dirt, to corrosion or accidental damage. 2. If you ever do have difficulty connecting your drive line to the mid PTO, position the PTO lever to the rear PTO position, which should put the mid PTO in a neutral state, making it easier to maneuver, if needed. I used to fight with mine, and after learning this, made it much easier! Thanks for the videos, and I hope you have a safe and Happy New Year!

Great video GP. Your first video saved me a ton of mistakes on mine. Your blower doesn't have the little parking feet the residential blower has. They help with the angle. It also doesn't have chute elevation so no messing with those two extra hoses. I think my next implement might have to be that blade! I'm experimenting with some sturdy Velcro instead of the recommended zip ties. After watching your new video, I missed a couple of grease zerks! Guess I know what my next tractor chore is! I have the same problem with that right side pin on the blower. Interesting. Headlamps rock. My sister bought me a Petzl years ago and it gets used weekly. Your hanger on your k frame is different than mine, mine is a bright gold curly Q style and your square bars look smarter and simpler. If you want to keep the blower on the pallet a 2 x 4 in front will angle it I think for you better. Also a furniture dolly is the perfect thing to drop my k frame on to and then just roll it where I want it. Roll it back under the tractor and it goes right back on, easy. Anyway not a very organized response, but tips to add for folks. Oh... Use your bucket level indicator for level bucket when starting to remove the front end loader. Less stress on those legs, they're that exact height. Oh and we can't get those Kubota jackets here at all, and nowhere online. I have looked for one for a while now. That thing looks great. Finally, someone explained the dump detent to me in a way that made it make sense... The bucket has weight and normally right is just releasing pressure. Pushing past the detent actually reverses flow. The little hydraulic motor has no weight pushing against the "lift" direction so it needs true flow reversal to go that way. Cheers GP!

I use fluid film on my chute. So far so good. I’m pondering on changing my drive chain on my rear Frontier blower. As I roll over the auger I noticed last year the chain is tight with just the right amount of slack, as I move it. It goes singing tight then loosens up again as I move it more. Not sure if this is from me hitting something. I only snapped a shear pin once on the blowers gearbox shaft and that was a very light bump to do so.

Also, all of my equipment is in a garage on a pallet. Just makes life a lot easier. We just had an ice storm followed by 4 inches of snow that needed to be plowed. Not a big deal and seems like a waste of time and just wish it was 12 inches. If I have to plow, let it be a lot of snow. I hope you get some snow so all of the work is worthwhile. Happy New Year, GP. Thank you for your videos and the wealth of information you have given so freely to people. I know I will be looking up your video on how to replace a shear bolt. When you're routing the roses through that hanger under the tractor, would it be possible to pull the aft support cross pin out an inch or two and make it easier to tuck the hoses in, then slide it across and put in the retainer pin? It looks like if the weight of the blower was on the front would take any load off that cross pin.

I have a question: Back when I brought my LX3310 I got a Lader with it. But as I said many times I only use my Tractor for snow blowing. The loader was placed in the garage and been there for 2 1/2 years. IIQuestion, is there something Should do while it's just sitting there. I know a lot is wondering why I paid for a loader. I feel some time down the road I might see or maybe even trade. Ir when I die at least the Tractor has a loader too. It's being stored inside out of the weather. It's still brand new never used. Again is there something I should be doing?
