Kubota LX2610 compact tractor. LX2980 Front Mount Snowblower. LandPride RB1672 Hydraulic Rear Blade. Installation for Winter. outdoor channel.
I think it's that time of year but it's always a risk, based on the forecast. But with snow in the forecast, I am going to mount the Kubota LX2980 front mount snowblower and my LandPride RB1672, with hydraulic angle kit, onto my Kubota LX2610 compact tractor. Let's hope I didn't remove the FEL too soon. Cheers!

Gordon, I am with you on the decision to remove the FEL and install the front blower. Last week, I cleared the snow with the FEL (not recommended) and yesterday I turned over my compost mountain with the FEL. In the next few days, I will have to bite the bullet and install the front blower. A while back, you had a rear mounted blower for testing. That could be the compromise for the shoulder season of mixed FEL work and snow blowing. Then install the front blower when the snow starts to get serious. Rear blowers being cheaper than front blowers, and a LOT cheaper than the other solution--two tractors!

That's a good point Pete! Some thing to consider. It is always tough to take that step and remove the FEL. Cheers and all the best!

Like the new set up. My 3940 has a long undercarriage and is more involved putting on. Did it for the first time, the drive shafts were hard to work with too. My drive is a half mile long in northern Michigan but not too hilly so I don’t need chains yet. Thanks for the demo and the tips. UR the best.

Spray the inside of the blower and chute with cheap, dollar store, furniture spray polish (like Pledge but cheaper) and then again in the spring when you take the blower off. Reduces snow sticking and surface rust.

Really a great machine GP. Having the two rear remotes are nice too. Good day GP ! I would probably put a light coat of oil and grease on the expose shiny parts of your hydraulique cylinders on your FELT to prevent it to rust so no leak will occur 🧐 Sir that pine at 4:23 I would put it the other way so in case that the front wheel will push it the little locking wire out of the center, the main pine will not come off by gravity 👍😊 And since it is me, Yes I will lock wire it for safety since it is very close from the ground and the wheel.... 🧐 but others probably tell you already that. You did right at 4:53 👍 You are very well snow equip Sir and have a great week end Cheers !!!

We had the same set up on a smaller tractor. We got a 3520 Deere several years ago. We also cut a lot of wood. We went with a 7’ loader blade and a 6’ three point hitch blower for the rear. We keep out hoe on the back and mainly use blade for normal snows it pushes great. If we get a blizzard then I put bucket on front take hoe off and put blower on. This way the loader is always on and we cans switch to grapple for cutting wood. By the way. That is one nice looking set up you have. You keep them looking new. Have a great holiday season and think snow. ❄️❄️☃️

I opted for a rear mount snow blower unit,. and kept my Front End Loader in place, ( for those who didn't catch the meaning of FEL ) I dropped off my bucket and mounted a 6.5 foot 'real' snow plow on front, which is what I use mostly. I push the snow in rows or piles, then if the snow plies are in the way, I reverse into the piles to blow it away. It's considerably easier to mount a rear 'blower than all those hoses etc. for a front mount unit. To each his own I guess!

For your next purchase can I suggest a B26 TLB? You'll love the backhoe and the ability to have a front loader, forks, grapple in the winter is awesome. Fortunately, I have two neighbors with snowblowers (one front-mounted and one rear-mounted forward-facing), so I make do with a front hydraulically actuated plow. I agree that the only drawback of your setup is the loss of the front attachments. Safe and happy holidays to all.

Great advise , nice new toy! Another idea i have found helpful in regard to the shear pins. Lube them with anti-seize, sure most augers have grease fittings, but all you need is a little water to get in. I have spent far too much time fighting to get them out , swearing someone welded them in😳

Great video Gord - that K-connect system is brilliant engineering. With bulk manufacturing it’s hard to make every pin hole align perfectly, but with a bit of wear-in or a light touch with a die grinder, it should all line up pretty well. Curious to see how much snow you got up there ... southeastern Ontario was on the rainy side of this one and only got a dusting at the end of the storm. PS. Love that Kubota Choko jacket! How's she goin'? Great looking set up GP!!! The blower looks beefy and that's important especially for a front mount unit!!! I really like the hydraulic angle cylinder for the back blade. With the rear remotes, why not use the right? I really enjoy the winter and plowing, but if the snow waits till nearer to Christmas that'll be OK with me!!! Thanks for posting and take care!!

Fantastic GP!! I am very interested in knowing how the defrost system works on the inside cab windows once you get some snow in there from you boots and it starts melting. Great video! Cheers!

@@GPOutdoors I would suggest keeping some warm clothes in the cab just in case. That mile long driveway would be a long walk in the dark at -40.

Greetings Gord, Lee here, nice looking heavy duty blower. Are the bearings on the front drive shaft easy to get at to grease? I also like your power angle on the back blade, that will come in handy. You and your family keep well. later

hi Gord It apears that you have enough room on the blower shoot deflector cyl. to turn the fittings down istead of up. it will give more hose to loop back to your tractor.

Thanks Richard! It made it ok to the side, but I was kind of surprised that those hoses were not as long as the others, to route together. Take care!

Good day to you GP and thank you for another video. I'm wondering about the hydraulic hoses passing through the grill guard, any possible ''rubbing''? If yes, maybe to zip tie a lenght (30-50 cm) of plastic spiral wrap and pass the hoses in there. By the way, when you say ''chores'', with the large smile you have it do not look like real ''chores'' (Lolllll) ;- D Be well

I had my snowblower attachment for the past 2 weeks but hadn't connected the drive shaft to it. Then we got a lot of rain 2 days ago and I had to reconnect the FEL and the backhoe. To add salt to injury, I couldn't use my tractor to get where I needed to fix the damage from the rain. Almost got stuck until I pushed myself out using the backhoe. Now I dunno if I should connect the snowblower or wait....
