Billy: says his name Me: He's a really good actor

Dacre gave this character so much depth. Billy could've easily just been the hot bad guy but his eyes were so captivating and full of emotion. I loved him on the show

Steve, Billy and Eddie would’ve been a really insane trio that I so badly wished existed.

Billy's character arc is so haunting. You want to love him, because you don't want to hate him, even though he gives you every reason to hate him. Just a stunning performance by Dacre, full of energy and depth. I've never been more heartbroken by the death of a villain in a series before. I always want to go back to the beach and protect that little boy.

In a show with actual monsters, Billy is legit the most terrifying character. Dacre plays him so well.

He was the perfect stereotypical troubled 80's bully. No one else would have made that role justice.

Billy's character added so much to the show. I was genuinely scared of him, at the same time I felt protective whenever he was with his dad, his eyes showed such deep mixed emotions and his death was an incredible scene. Dacre played it so so well

You can tell he knows what he's doing by his eyes. The eyes are such a key part of acting, his blocking is also very precise.

I completely understand how the Stranger Things people saw this and were like “he’s the one”

he has this like perfect scary smile. it’s so hard to explain but it’s so good for the role he played, it’s actually insane

He made up most of Billy's mannerisms, I didn't know that! Doing the nasaly voice when threatening someone, all the facial expressions, i love it!

I feel like he was born for Billy role. Just so perfect.

Notice when he's being threatening or intimidating, he doesn't blink. It makes him more terrifying. I believe Hopkins did the same in Silence of the Lambs.

I always like to hand out my own little "emmy" for the best performance (imo) per season... this is what I have so far: Season 1 - Winona Ryder Season 2 - Noah Schnapp Season 3 - Dacre Montgomery Season 4 - Sadie Sink

Dacre is a very talented actor. I wish Billy had more screen time

Very 80s type of acting thats why it was perfect.

I was genuinely scared and intimidated by his character in the show. His eyes, his way of saying the lines, the performance was literally perfect.

His acting in this role as Billy was absolutely amazing. Billy to me was one of the best characters in Stranger Things. A multi-dimensional character. When he died saving Eleven it was heartbreaking. He had a hard life. Love how part of his audition tape is the dialogue of Keifer Sutherland's character in "Stand by Me".

Billy reminded me of my brother and I’s relationship. The anger and yet the protective/ potential good in him that makes you not want to hate him

Wow. This is my first time seeing Dacre's audition - I already watched his performance in Stranger Things 2 and 3 - and I can honestly see how he acquired the role. This is an intense audition. He captured the soft-spoken menace that made Kiefer Sutherland so magnetic in Stand by Me, and his willingness to go crazy and dance felt genuine and bravely unrestrained. The inflection in his voice is very impressive, and his changes of facial expressions and tone are in-the-moment and raw. He could've made a great Billy Nolan in a (quality) remake of Carrie.

I can’t wait to see the other characters he’ll play in the future. He seems like he’ll have some very iconic roles

He is so in touch with that character, he just falls out of reality. It's amazing.

When a character can play a part so well that they can reach in to ur pocket of emotions and make u hate them or feel negatively toward him. He plays this part so well. And it added a lot to the show for the length of the time he was alive

The casting crew was probably like: we don't want him, we NEED him. It's him. It's Billy. That's Billy. No one else could be Billy. BUT IN ALL SERIOUSNESS, I can't imagine anyone else as Billy.

Dacre's acting in Season 3 was amazing.. I was so scared of him but my heart broke for him at times. When he was warning El and yet a tear rolled down his cheek... I had chills

I'm so glad dacre got the roll, not only was he someone I fangirled over but he played a very important part in the show.

Watching him just dancing is actually hilarious

Billy reminded me so much of my older brother. Definitely felt a lot of emotions about that. And it only made sense, considering a lot of aspects of our lives relate to the time frames of s/t. Dacre did an amazing job and I don't think anyone else could have hit me in the gut the way he did on such a personal level.

Made me sob, when he died. Somehow him being reminded of his mother at the Beach with him, and then him saving eleven, and that one last action, that made him a damaged but compassionate character. It really killed me.

Out of context, the second scene looks/sounds like Billy's aggressive dancing is gonna knock the other kids out and Max is desperately trying to stop him.

I started smiling uncontrollably half way through and couldn’t stop ☺️
