Can an Average Guy Drive A Golf Ball 295 Yards? | Above Average Joe | GQ Sports

Average guy Clay Skipper is no golfer, but that doesn't mean he can't learn to drive a golf ball 295 yards in two days. Seems like a simple enough ask, right? In this episode of Above Average Joe Clay takes part in his own long drive competition, where he has 2 minutes to drive 8 balls at least 295 yards. Will the help of pro golfers Troy Mullins and Collin Morikawa and yoga instructor Beth Cooke be enough to get him there?

I've learned more about the driving stance and swing in the first five minutes of this vid than the other You Tube Golfing channels I'm subscribed to. Troy broke that whole sequence down into slow controlled stages which I haven't seen on any other my other golfing channels, (not naming names).. Sure they talk about the set up, tilt your body slightly etc and then as soon as they set up they just wallop through it as if that's all there is to it.. My driving is awful atm, (my short game is coming on though)... Started out ok when I first picked up a club just under a year back, then it went all downhill. I've been watching far too many different channels... Anyhow I'm waffling... Great video, wish Troy Mullins was my coach..

I can't tell you how many times I've played with people that "think" they hit 300... If you don't hit a ball have time to pickup your tee and you're ball still not airborne, you aren't close to 300. I carry 285-290 and I out hit all of these so called "I hit 300" and they think I'm at like 330-340, love bursting their bubble and say nope like 305 and they're 30 yards behind me.

So how the hack did you get in touch with CM? If I try giving some tour guy I call I most times end up nowhere. I really need to get to know someone with connections :-)
