The grants could be used to create productive way for people to earn an income. The biggest share of our tax revenue is from PAYE followed by VAT, creating a productive way for them to make money through employment will only result in earners paying tax directly and indirectly as opposed to only indirectly. Corporate tax must be increased too. Grants may be helpful for a lot of people but it won’t result in their standard of living due grant not being sufficient. Lack of jobs also results in people finding illegal ways to be productive like selling drugs of which the entire value chain from supplier to consumer results in crime, the consumer themselves find criminal way to fund their habits. The solution to poverty is creating employment aggressively .
