GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1972 Chevy Impala survivor! This rare vehicle comes in a clean aegean brown paint job complemented by a spotless black interior. Powering the Impala is believed to be the original 350 cubic inch V8 engine mated to a smooth shifting automatic transmission. Additionally, the miles on this vehicle are indeed believed to be the original miles. Features of the Impala include power steering, power brakes, functioning heat, A/C and more. The vehicle comes to us from the original owner who has always properly stored and maintained the vehicle. Some of the recent maintenance includes a new heater core, fuel sending unit, and more. All of which comes with receipts from a locally well know classic automobile shop. The Chevy Impala is one of the most iconic vehicle lines ever produced. So, if you're in the market for a true find, please consider this incredible Chevy Impala. Please contact us today for more information.
The 1971 redesigned B-body would be the largest car ever offered by Chevrolet. The hardtop Sport Coupe continued to be offered; it was a smoothly sloped semi-fastback reminiscent of the 1961 "bubbletop" styling. A three-speed manual transmission remained standard at the beginning of the year, but in the spring of 1971 all V8-equipped full-size GM cars got Turbo Hydra-Matic as standard equipment. Powerglide remained optionally available for six-cylinder cars until the 1973 models. In keeping with their huge size, these new "B" body Chevrolets were close to Cadillac in luxury features, styling, and ride. Like all GM "B" bodied cars, Impala got a new power ventilation system that remained on while the ignition was on, and included both large vents in the instrument panel and louvers in the trunk. However, the system proved to be problematic and was disliked by many buyers.

I stumbled upon this video and thought I’d went back in time. My Dad bought this exact same car in 1972. Same color and everything. I took my driver’s test in it at 14 and used it as a college car in the 80’s. Ours was brown inside too with brown vinyl seats which were hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It had a brown dash too.

I came here for the exact same reason. I was in 3rd grade when my dad came home with this car one day, traded in his ugly green 67 Pontiac. Ours had a vinyl brown interior

My parents drove a dark blue 72 Impala with a black vinyl top when I was a kid. They sold it in 1980 to a guy who just wanted the engine to rebuild and drop in an old Chevy pickup. Good memories.

my parents had a 72 4 door hardtop like this except ours was blue with a white painted roof. My dad always chose hardtops because he liked the look with all the windows down. We drove that car to Florida on July 4th 1978 and the A/C gave out, he traded it in when we got home on a 79 Oldsmobile Cutlass Salon. That Cutlass was so ugly but it lasted forever.

What a great car, especially in its beautiful original condition. My friend had a 72 four door like this one, it was reliable for sure. Too bad about the rust though....

@@Redant23 Yeah, such a shame...My friends four door rusted badly due the water trapped in the bottom of that back window. I wish I had the skills to do a frame off restoration on one of these cars....Hope your rust is manageable..

I had a light blue one with a white top. I bought it in 1987 for $75. It had 101,000 miles on it. Had 2 years and sold it for $300. Wish I kept it now knowing what they're going for these days.

I had one just like that 15 years ago when my wife and I got together. Only it was white with a black vinyl top. I prefer those years with the black vinyl top, because it sets off the body line into the trunk. Mine too was the black interior, with a two-barrel carburetor on a 350. I remember one night, well I was headed to work, two kids in a pocket rocket wanted to race when I didn't realize I was in a race. Because I naturally have a Leadfoot I just took off like normal. When they caught up to me at the next light they insisted I had some monsters engine under the hood. They did not believe me that the only modification was a K&N air filter, dual exhaust with turbo mufflers, and an electronic ignition module that replace the points. The light turn green and all they saw were six taillights as they were banging through gears sounding like a pissed off weed wacker.

I know the feeling....I had a 79 Cadillac coupe Deville....425 motor....4 barrel....This was back in 1991 when kids were starting to fix up crappy toyotas 4 cylinder cars....When ever I saw a Toyota or Nissan all fixed up at the lights I would hit the gas and blow them away no problem....Back then the kids used to think that big cars like mine were slow....but they were WRONG......🤣🤣🤣

@@jimd2101 I knew a guy that had a '79 sedan Deville with a 400. My dad and I went with him somewhere once and that put the '78 Impala I had at the time to shame. Many cows gave their lives to upholster the couch that was that back seat. Those old GM v8s weren't rated very high, but that 305 with the way they were geared were quick. My mom had a '99 Intrepid R/T that she tried her darndest to beat me with and never succeeded. But, those old cars no longer can keep up with the new cars. 10 years ago the '99 Tahoe I just gave up was still a quick truck with 255 hp. The '18 Silverado I replaced it with has a hundred more horses and would blow the doors off any of my old small blocks except for the '79 C10 with 350/350 crate engine.

@@pohldriver Yes they did gear the 305s to be quick....I drove a 79 Malibu with a 305....and that car took right off .......Another car that was fast that you wouldn't expect is the 1985 Pontiac Grand Prix with the 301 V 8.......My Dad had one ....I drove it and this car was quick off the line 😊😆

It depended on the engine you got with it. The least powerful 350 V8, 2 Barrel Carb was 170 HP. It went up from there. It was at the beginning of the EPA emissions control.
