Alex drops the GRC off at Shop Formula S to have our new Silver's Neomax Coilover suspension installed and aligned. Follow along for fun or if you're just trying to figure out how to install your own suspension on the weekend. Then Alex takes to the streets to give his first impression.

great video! have a question - why are the front springs softer than the rears?

Because the rear springs are divorced from the shocks we chose the rates because the motion ratio is different on this style suspension geometry.

I have a question about the overheating diff issue i hear so much about on the groups and what you have done to mitigate it. I am about to sell my GR86 to pick up a GR Corolla core that is fully loaded at msrp and i plan to track it but i am worried about the diff issue. Any help would be appreciated.

Hopefully you’ve had time to watch our older videos to see the work we’ve done to get the heat under control. But with most performance cars heat will always be the enemy. We have worked with Verus Engineering to have some ducting created to direct air onto the diff and clutch packs but it still gets hot. Oil cooler and radiator help also. Next step is to not just direct heat onto the diff and clutch packs but to have a way for that hot air to pass off of the area. Hope some of that helps.

Is the nut that locks on the long bolt that goes through the bottom of the rear shock a reverse thread? I would like to know before i start cranking on it. I cant find this answer anywhere. Please and thank you 🙏🏼

Reverse thread? That sounds like a MOPAR thing not a JDM thing.

for rear alignment, i see one aftermarket adjustable control arm, but not the other that is typical. To get the toe in spec do you need an aftermarket adjustable control arm or is the factory one enough? cheers!

We were able to get the alignment to spec with the toe settings using the factory one and able to dial in the camber with the Cusco arm.

Did they cut the cowling during the install for the front adjustments?

If you check out 8:32 you'll see Alex gets some homework to do. He has to cut out the cowl to allow the adjustments to the shocks.

That was not an option for the coilovers for the GRC at the time. And maybe a bit unnecessary for the track use we had planned.

what size wheel & tire setup is the car running on?

The wheels are Wedssport TX105X 18x9.5 +25 and the factory rear bolt on spacer was put back in compared to previous videos we did with it off. The tires are Advan A052s sized 265/35 on all four corners.

We should check on that. With the added roll bar but no seats…could be about even. But maybe we will have time to check before the SEMA stuff starts.

GR Corollas and Yaris' in 10 years will be like the MK4 Supra :D all of them modified and cheap and the ones that will remain stock will fetch sky high prices :D
