The diff isn't what fails. The coupler in front of that has issues. There are a couple options to solve that. 1. Is a small heat shield that goes around the temp sensor in the side of the coupler to protect is from exhaust heat, or 2. Get the awd controller and then you can completely control the awd and make sure it doesn't kick into fwd

Yah, we don't really have mics inside to enjoy that engine spool. Once we have a shift in our budget then maybe we can rely less on the soundtrack.

Yes we already had the oil cooler installed, Alex mentioned it and we showed it a couple times in the montage of parts when the front end was coming apart. We are thinking of relocating it next to get fresh front air flow to help more next time.

Crazy this has been such an issue. We are working with PWR North America and we are hoping to work with them on an oil cooler kit. And adding the Cusco piece also to help keep things cool.

@Just Driven, also you should look at a few of the race brands down in Australia they've gone through the same woes years ago with the awd over heating issue; Toyota makes a new under tray fix for added airflow .

We've seen a lot of the Yaris overheat issues. We knew going into this there would be some battles. It's part of why we got PWR North America onboard early. As for the Weds...We removed the rear spacer when we put the wheels on. Mostly to keep the rear wheel from catching the fender.

We are hoping for a cooler system and more efficiency before we chuck more power at it.

There wasn't many spots on track for us to setup cameras so we were limited. And the interior camera audio didn't catch anything but wind noise from the open windows. Richard had to keep the windows open because he had the heaters on to keep the mechanical temps down.

There was no rubbing. We have Cusco rear arms and we removed the rear factory spacer.

perfect. Im thinking for the time being, I will run the swift Spec R springs, with the front crash bolt, and the rear upper Cusco arm on the Wedsports. Im still holding out for offerings from KW or Ohlins, but in the meantime want it lower and a little more sporty. Im pondering going with the 9.0" width instead of the 9.5 you're running. It has the same offset and I dont need max width tires, and the wheel is almost 1lb lighter. going to look into tire offerings at the 255 width before i decide. would there be anything I am missing going with the slightly narrower wheel and tire package, or did you want to get the biggest tire on there for obvious performance reasons? thanks again, LOVE your content and its so helpful that you guys are so interactive with the community and reply to the comments on your videos so well. cheers!@@JustDriven

PWR had not officially launched their cooling products for the GR Corolla as of today’s date. And Verus has not debuted the rest of their aero parts. Both will release soon but no official date yet.

Thank you! We are not on coilovers yet. This event it got some RSR lowering springs for testing. The wheels are 18x9.5 +25 and the factory rear bolt on spacer was removed just in case of fender/quarter contact with soft springs.

Once more GRCs are out in the wild the aftermarket will catch up.

Thanks for the suggestions. We have some aero ducting to the rear diff and a new radiator. All new fluids and some other little tricks. New cooling upgrades coming.

@@JustDriven would the GRC still have these problems if it was actually racing on something closer to a rally stage? ie, long and curvy gravel roads?

It would likely have similar issues depending on track temps.

Toyota dropped the ball on the cooling. Unacceptable for it's price point, hope they address it in the next refresh

When pushed to the limits like this, nearly every car in this price range will have overheating issues. We are digging into this new chassis and trying to smooth out any issues we find for future and current owners wanting to push their cars to the limit too.

We love a good challenge.

Only a 1:38 lap time with all those mods. And I just bought one thinking I’d have a good little street/track car. So disappointed.

It was very hot at the track that day. We couldn't believe it either.

We haven't reached out to them yet. We can't be the only ones having cooling issues with this thing. We hope to be the first to crack the issue though so we can share it with all of you.
