Welcome to Episode 3 of our GR Corolla Vlog series!
This episode is all about tuning the GR Corolla using Ecutek. We show you how we're doing the tuning, including hooking up to the ECU to flash it, as well as what the Ecutek Flash kit includes, how that connects to your car and works with the Ecutek Connect App. We also talk a bit about what items you can monitor, how do datalogs and how to send those to us for review.

Really stoked to see this video and trying hard to be patient with Ecutek’s development pace-I’m really hoping to be able to do remote tuning with you (at 6000’) before next season. Also, the explanation (and comparison to Subie) of how Toyota does ECU strategy is super helpful-nice presentation!

Hi just a quick note on why toyota chose to not just remove timing based on knock sensor data but also add. This was done simply out of consideration that they wanted to enable the vehicle to perform optimally regardless of the specific knock resistance available in different batches of fuel. Therefore if you live in an area with excellent fuel then the ECU will optimize the ignition timing by advancing it over time until it reaches the limit of knock resistance for that fuel.

That is correct! A lot of OEM tuning uses that approach. Sorry if I was not real clear on this in my explaination.

where can I buy the ecutek kit? I searched on the ecutek website and I couldn't find it for the grc?

What bronze wheels are those? Almost thought APEX but I think they're something else. Rays?

They are Advan RS wheel. I had them powder coated triple bronze and they came out nice!

So what's the expected increase in hp/tq numbers?

It depends on mods and fuel type. With just a tune for 93oct we’ve been getting 20-30 whp and 30-40 torque gained through the powerband. An intake can add another 10-15 in places and with E40 tuning we’re seeing as much as 40-50 whp gained.
