Nice time! 1:49 for me according to my instructor this past weekend in our HPDE intro course in lead-follow. Give or take a second on either side since he said his Porsche lap timer is based on his inputs.

Are you running 50/50 bias?
@boostedperformance_27 күн бұрын
Yeah, I have found track mode is the best for road racing. 30/70 is more for being on a loose surface like dirt/gravel/snow to get more rotation.

@@boostedperformance_ Have you had the differential overheating problem?
@stuffandthings395927 күн бұрын
@@300zxdriver nope! I can run 3-4 hot laps in the 20 minute session no problem. I do cool-downs and everything is good. The issue happens when you are just hot lapping and really working the diff with no "break" for over 15 minutes but that's hard on tires/brakes/etc anyway so that's not really a good approach. The whole overheating thing is also actually calculated by the car based on hard and transmission temp. Its not even protecting the rear clutch packs, its protecting the transfer case up at the front. So, again, if you do some fun laps, some cool laps and more fun laps, you can be out for a full session because it will not calculate that the transfer case might be getting to hot.

Just got a GR this week. I love racing at Mid-Ohio. Used to be my home track. Most the mods sound good. You are running both the stock and aftermarket spacers in the rear? That's a bit scary. That's with long studs too ya? I assume wheels with the proper offset aren't available? For brake pads, Pagid are what all the Porsche guys run, but are mighty expensive last I looked. I've had great success with Porterfields "house" pads (R4). The Corolla has massive brakes for its size, and doesn't need anything super fancy. Even the stock pads work pretty well on track. For really heavy duty braking, I like the Raebestos ST43 (in the front, and the R4 in the rear) which wear great and work great from the very first stop.

We need to see the SAE and bot STD dyno sheet.
@boostedperformance_Ай бұрын
SAE is generally about 2% lower than STD. Next time we do anything on the dyno, I will include both. Customers typically don't care about the difference and ask for whatever will show the highest number so we we provide that but we use the same correction for base line and final numbers to so the correct gain. Which correction is used is not nearly as important as doing that and also use one of the corrections in general.
@touayaaj84Ай бұрын
@@boostedperformance_ people want to brag about how much hp they got, especially when dynos can be manipulated. I want to see the power under the curve; the VE is what I care about when it comes to tuning.
@boostedperformance_Ай бұрын
@@touayaaj84 I could not agree more! We do not tune a peak number, we very much tune for area under curve, smoothness, and longevity before anything else. We respect the limits of a given setup and leave some margin in the tuning to handle hard use since they dyno testing puts the car into very favorable conditions compared to say road course use for 15-20 minute sessions.

Do I have to tune the car after eventuri intake install?
@yamafanboy8 ай бұрын
Hi just a quick note on why toyota chose to not just remove timing based on knock sensor data but also add. This was done simply out of consideration that they wanted to enable the vehicle to perform optimally regardless of the specific knock resistance available in different batches of fuel. Therefore if you live in an area with excellent fuel then the ECU will optimize the ignition timing by advancing it over time until it reaches the limit of knock resistance for that fuel.
@boostedperformance_7 ай бұрын
That is correct! A lot of OEM tuning uses that approach. Sorry if I was not real clear on this in my explaination.

Got a question the stock air box has a gap in the throat before the box. I believe its for Bernoulli's principle to increase air volume. When i removed just the throat from the grill to install new eventuri. I drove to store and saw a significant loss in power. [I was sent gloss not matte carbon so I stopped install until correct intake arrives] my question is would the forced induction benefit from Bernoulli's principle?
