This is my first time doing the oil change on this car. The car has been serviced at the dealer three times already. So I have not neglected it lol.

not bad for the first time doing a oil change. only thing i would sugest is after it runs for a few minutes ...leave it for a hour to top it off on level ground

I noticed that you used your floor jack in the front of the vehicle before placing the jack stands, was there a reason for that? Does it make it so your tires land evenly when you are finished, removed the jack stands, and then lower the car back down? I've seen so many vods of people just using the floor jack on the side, lift, place stand, move to other side, and repeat. Also, how did you know where to center the floor jack in the front of the vehicle?

How come you added a washer to the plug? I didn't see you have to remove a "old washer" when you removed the plug, did you? Sorry for the question, i have a new GR and trying to understand the method behind this and why a washer was place on it when placing the washer back on. If i took my car to a 10 minute oil change, would they even know about this? Is the washer a necessary process and if they didn't do what you did, would it be a big mistake on their part which could compromise the integrity of the oil plug?

Every time I took it to the dealer they put a new washer and I’ve always put new ones after any oil change on any car.

@@uReact2 I have yet to do anything with the oil in my car, it's only a month old. So are you saying there is a washer on the oil plug? I'm just curious because if i took my car to lets say, Express Oil Change (the 10 minute oil change place), would they know it "needs" to have a washer? I know you are not a mechanic, but just trying to understand this whole washer thing, i have never dealt with one with previous, older cars.

@@Ccortanaayeah I wouldn’t take my cars to any of those quick oil change spots. A lot of them are known to mess something up on your car. Some cars don’t take washers and use like a o-ring gasket. But these cars take a washer. They’re only like a dollar at the dealership.

@@uReact2 Also, those gasket rings look metal? I've seen a lot of good reviews on those blue rings that look almost like fabric. Is that ring you showed metal? If so, how come you chose that over the blue rings?

@Ccortanaa yeah most Toyotas use that metal washer with a blue coating on them. Subaru is using crush washers like the one I have in this video.

Changing your oil every 2k miles seems like a waste of money. Maybe if I wanted to do it more often, I'd do it at 3.5k miles instead of every 2k. That's a lot of money spent on just oil...
