I heard this song for the first time right after my stepmom passed away and it took me over a year before I could even listen to it again. Such a beautiful song! I just saw them in concert a couple weeks ago and they are still amazing. The sound of silence live was unbelievable!

This one cuts deep. But it’s a good pain. David actually wrote this after watching the movie (Coco) with his son. So you are spot on. Great reaction. Their live version of this is really special, too.

David Draiman...a voice to die for! A powerful voice that can go from warm baritone to angelic tenor, from clear as a crystal to rasp/distortion/vocal fry and back on a dime, which goes straight through you to your very soul! He has a timbre in his voice that I've never heard before........just hauntingly beautiful. An awesome talent. Loved your reaction and your take on the performance Jimmy.....you were so right, David can make you cry or give you goosebumps or BOTH! His voice goes right through you! Thanks Jimmy!

Many of the band's songs have a really great message. The Light" is much more in their usual style but it is amazing. The instrumentals in "Hold on to Memories" are amazing.

My father passed away Oct. 3rd this year and we played this song at his funeral, it still touches me and makes me cry when listening to it but it also reminds me of my wonderful father and always will but I feel it's a good thing, maybe one day I can listen to it and smile at remembering him rather than cry, great song and great reaction.

Just a beautiful song, watched it 6 times now and still can't get 30 seconds in without sobbing. Lost my younger brother due to a work accident 2 years back who left behind his wife, and 3 young kids/babies, not sure whether to send this song to them or not.

Dude.. I am so totally with you on this one.. when I first heard this song s few weeks ago.. wow..years.. then I found a live version and they scanned the audience where a couple was holding up a onesie.. O My FING G!!! What the F David!! Niagra falls!!!!! I hate you!! Not.. I know right??

I lost my mother, father, and sister in 2020. I did go back to this song then. I'm not going to say it just "got me through it" - but it didn't hurt.

I remember listening to this song for the first time and I definitely felt my throat hurting. Watching the official music video with you for the first time is something else. I didn’t shed a tear but I felt em coming. I could see how much the song affected you and that really made me enjoy the song more knowing how it can affect other people and finally watching the official video.

I can't listen to this song without crying! It's next to impossible! I have two siblings that lost children, one to an accidental overdose! He had broken his scapula in a Skiing accident and evidently took too much pain medication. He would have been 36 years old, he was 21 when it happened.. My youngest brother lost his youngest daughter, she was 20 when she passed from Sepsis 6 years ago! I think about the two of them so often...and I know my youngest brother still suffers emotionally from her passing so quickly and at such a young age!

Nice reaction man. It's definitely a difficult one to listen to. Hits everyone differently but it does hit man. You should check out Disturbed - Darkness.

One of my fav disturbed songs is “Stricken”. That one is more of what most of their songs are like. It’s different from Sound of Silence and Hold onto Memories.
