A weekend of adventures in Snowdonia.
A solo hike of Pen Yr Ole Wen for sunset and FINALLY Crib Goch at sunrise, lead by the awesome Dave (find him on Insta @thedaverave_hikes or Facebook: / exploringnorthwales ) - we got the most insane cloud inversion!
Such an incredible weekend, one of my favourite and most memorable weekends of hiking.

Hi Grace, I came across your videos after seeing a news article on the Daily Post website. Seeing your videos a few days ago actually inspired and encouraged me to dig out my old mountaineering gear, and this morning I walked up to the summit of Y Garn in the Glyderau. I started hill walking back in 1997, but haven’t been up the hills for almost 10 years. At 57 years old, I surprised myself at how fit I still am this morning - all thanks to your videos.

Brilliant video, thank you so much. It brought back a lot of memories of 40 years ago when I was a lot fitter. I only did Crib Goch once and it was foggy. We didn’t realise how steep the sides were until we saw the postcards in the old station gift shop at the top. Many thanks again, Mike in Sheffield.

Hoorah for you. Crib Goch is the one place (well, maybe also Sharp Edge in the Lakes) where I wouldn't lead groups of kids because I'd be too busy watching for my own safety. Great views back down the ridge (you can sense that relief!) and of the clouds below - thank you. Might be little relief to you now, but that shoulder route up Pen yr Ole Wen is a lot more stabilised now than a while back. Tricky coming down in the dark. I'm glad you got down safely. Try the loop back down to the river and along the lake in the daylight sometime. Longer, but probably quicker, as there's a lot less scrambling. Happy walking in the new year.

Born in Bethesda, Gwynedd, I, along with a school mate, walked the Crib Goch route to the summit of Snowden. We were 14 and fearless. This young lady did brilliantly. And, no, I don't mean for a girl!😂 She's fearless!! 👍

Wow those sunrise/sets. I've been up snowdon a few routes but never crib goch. I was shaking just watching you on that ridge. And so glad you made it back down on that first night xx

Great stuff Grace. The scenery and surrounding landscape were vividly captured, I felt I was there, and actually wished I was. The sunrise against the backdrop of the clouds was stunning. I was impressed how you were alert to the dangers of the descent of Pen Yr Ole Wen and encroaching darkness. A++ Thanks for sharing and cheering me up.

Did Crib Goch when I was 15yrs old as part of the Duke of Edinburgh awards , also Tryffan and Snowden . Day after we heard that three people had died having been blown off Crib Goch when high winds had picked up , so you were wise not to do it solo . Thanks for upload it brought back some happy memories , cannot believe 42 yrs have passed since then !!!!

Have not been on a mountain for 30 years due to severe health problems but like you are doing I collected as many memmories as possible, keep going and keep posting. Had over 200 crossings of Grib Goch but the most beautiful and memorable was above a red tinted inversion (could not resist your video when I saw Crib Goch and inversion in the title) I can guarantee that that is a memory you will have for decades. My memory also included emerging from the immersion on Snowdon just as, coincidentally a good friend, at that time, emerged from the other side together with his dog. Mountain memories never go away, dont ever stop.

Well done Grace. I did Crib Goch back in 2006, and saw someone fall (badly injured, but survived thankfully), so haven't been back. But it's always a fantastic achievement, and a memory that'll stay with you for sure.

Love that you show both the highs and lows of adventuring. It's so honest and such a part of the experience too. Pen yr Ole Wen can be a bit of a trickster I've found! Especially on descent, and even with the helpful little cairns people have made to try and even the score. Amazing luck to have clear weather on top -it has always been in mist for me.

I did crib goch and the horseshoe when I was 14 with some old guy I meet whilst walking with my parents, the rest of my family did the regular route with his wife!. Nice one Grace. The Snowdon horseshoe via CG was my first ever walk in wales back in November 2016. Did it solo and couldn’t see a thing🙄. Conditions were incredible for you. I was camped on Moel Siabod that Friday night and saw the rescue chopper on Saturday morning as I was heading back. Great video and well done 😎💪👍. Take care - Dave

i see rescue chopper as well and cites reports from this event: ''i was airlifted to bangor hospital where i was treated for a 2 inch hole in my shin 2 inches deep exposing my bone muscles and ligaments 1mm more i would have snapped my tibia ''

Love Crib, Pen Yr Ole Wen is definitely on my list now after viewing it from the otherside like you for many hikes! Also made the best pizza decision in Betws!
