In the US, fishing is regulated at the state level. I live in Washington state, and like most states, we have a general fishing license - you pay the fee and have access to most public lakes and streams. You generally buy a freshwater or saltwater license, and there are different fees depending on if you’re a resident or non-resident. I paid $29.50 for my freshwater license last year, and with that, you can check the state game and fish agency for the online regulations for each registered lake or stream.

WE have a hidden gem here in Beaufort, SC. It s a beach that is part of a state park. It's not well advertised so often times it seems almost like a private beach. It's called Hunting Island. Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach steel all the attention and all the commercial surroundings. hunting Island is quiet, secluded and almost never crowded or even busy.

Chicago should definitely be on your list!! Great architecture, museums, shopping, food, and a clean downtown. etc. Lake Michigan is huge - and looks like an ocean. Slovakia would fit inside it. I grew up there. Now I live in Massachusetts - another must-see if you're interested in US history that is. Eugene, Oregon; Seattle, WA; Bryce Canyon, Utah; Universal Studios in Florida; the Grand Canyon in AZ, San Diego, CA; Washington, D.C.; These are some recommendations. Hawaii is gorgeous but was so expensive I felt I couldn't truly enjoy it. Have fun. By the way, I think people everywhere have shorter tempers. This one girl was ready to murder me for pointing out I was next in line. Truly, watch out. Look for the kind helpers. Avoid confrontations.

I actually work in Clearwater Florida, I can promise you the water is crystal clear and the fishing in the surrounding area of St. Petersburg/Tampa is some of the best fishing I’ve experienced. From trophy tarpon, to grouper/snapper/red drum/sheepshead to filet and bring home to eat. But holy hell does it get busy youd definitely want to come in the off season. Also lots of golfing (which I love) and trails to walk where you can see armadillos, baby crocs, and all sorts of amazing birds. Definitely one of the cooler areas of Florida

Lived in Seagrove Beach Florida for years when I was a kid, and would recommend looking it up. It's way more developed and busy now, but would still rate it higher than Destin and Panama City Beach from the video (which are on either side of it) but is still less crowded than those. As a kid would wake up to the birds and sound of waves, hike through the woods, and swim with dolphins, sharks, and other sea life for most of the year. During the colder months would walk along deserted beaches. Amazing fishing. Even remember one very rare day when it snowed a little. Snow on white sand is surreal. Another one from the Pacific Northwest that wasn't in the video is Rialto Beach. It's otherworldly with the driftwood and black rocks and tide pools and rock formations.

I grew up on the east coast of Florida (Jacksonville) but I always preferred the west coast. We vacationed down below Tampa Bay in a very small town. We stayed at a camp site that had dug out a very cold natural spring, built a deck around it and added a slide. In the mornings we would catch crabs in the gulf near the camp site. In the heat of the day we would swim in the cold spring and in the evenings we would take the boat out to fish. Every night was a massive seafood dinner! Total freedom for the children without crowds. Perfect childhood.

The beaches on the Cali side have big waves and the water is almost always cold, lol. The beaches in the Gulf of Mexico, if you rent a beach house, they usually build them in long stretches so you may be all alone/very few folks on "your" beach. There's a lot of beach down here.

If you plan on fishing in Texas, as a foreigner, it mostly is just a matter of cost. Your son would be too young to need a license (17) currently. $16 for 1 day non resident all water pass. Need to fish more than 3 days to make getting actual license worth it, $68 all water license non resident.

To fish in the US you are a resident of the state you are in or you aren't. No hoops to jump through for foreigners. There are states that have certain areas with a very short season or even restricted numbers. But you mostly pay a higher price for a non -resident license. Not much difference in price in most cases.

I live in Cape Coral, Florida (right next to Ft Myers). The beaches here are nice and Sanibel Island is beautiful. I've been to all the beaches on this list in Florida. Panama City and Destin have the best sand in the world. It's very white so it doesn't get hot in the sun and it's like walking in baby powder, super soft. Insider tip, there is a state park in Panama City Beach that has a beach in the park. I spent a week there years ago. We would go to the beach there every day and usually be the only people out there. We would see dolphins come right up close to shore there. Check it out if you are near there.

Graham fam, Makena is correctly pronounced ma-KAY-nah, and Haleakala (ha-lay-AH-kah-la) is a volcano which was designated a national park a long time. Also, on a sad note, Maui is the island on which the city that burned up a few months ago (Lahaina; la-HIGH-nah) was located. Miami Beach is very near Biscayne Bay, which is home to Biscayne National Park, and directly across the highway is a sign for the other "on land" national park--Everglades. When we went back to Hawaii, he mentioned (Duke) Kahanamoku, which is pronounced kah-hah-nah-MOE-coo, but he got his vowels mixed up, and it ended up as kah-hoe-nah-MA-coo. Oops! I'm like you, Cat (Kat?), in that I've never taken a vacation where I just sat around and watched myself grow. I'd be bored in about 2 minutes. I'm definitely in the explorer group when I take a vacation. I make a big loop of several thousand miles in my car during around 2 weeks, seeing a whole list of things during that time, which is, no doubt, what made it possible for me to visit state #50 back in 1984, on the way home from Alaska (#49). Laurence of Lost in the Pond has been to Ohio St. beach, and he really likes it. This is on Lake Michigan. Hapuna Beach, HI, is 1/2 to 2/3 of the way up the coast from Kailua-kona (kye-LOU-ah CONE-ah) to Hawi (hah-VEE), which is the route for the Ironman Triathlon world championships.

I grew up during my early childhood years to age eleven at Imperial Beach, California. My father served as USN for twenty-seven years retiring 1971 as Master Chief Petty Officer, Stationed at North Island NAS- San Diego and our family lived off base. I have many fond memories playing at the beach 🏖 . However, we sold our home at 310 Elder Avenue, Imperial Beach and moved not to far away to 1525 Standlake Avenue, Nestor near San Ysidro and I can remember riding my bicycle me and my brother down remote road for about three miles to the State Border Beach where Mexican Border is at, I could see the Tijuana Mexico Bullrink and sometimes the cheering crowds yelling "Ole' ". Our family moved to Oregon where parents grew up and I am glad we did so long ago because the beautiful Imperial Beach that I once knew has become polluted by filth let out into the Ocean from an Coastal area south of the Border of Mexico 🇲🇽 and sad to 😢 watch videos on KZfaq about it. Hopefully not all beaches in America have been polluted and I hope that someday Imperial Beach no longer polluted of waste from Mexico into Pacific Ocean. Oregon Beaches are still clean and very beautiful places to enjoy all along Coastline.😊

Of course though nowadays there's the Rogue Jet Boat Excursions from Grants Pass that many tourist go on that isn't the same type of river float experience that we all enjoyed in the days gone by back in the 1970's my family had Thoroughbred Appaloosa Horse Ranch that was located where the Applegate River flowed into the Rogue River near Grants Pass Oregon. You will need to get a fishing license in order to fish in the US. Each state has its own rules and normally there are different licenses for fishing in freshwater and saltwater. Prices of each license depend on whether you are a resident of the state in which you wish to fish. Here in Florida, there are even lifetime fishing licenses for both salt and freshwater. Prices vary depending on the age of the person buying the license. You must legally reside in Florida for a lifetime fishing license. I am planning to buy the licenses for both fresh and saltwater for my child when he or she is born. Pay the fee now and never again for the rest of my child's life.

To get fishing/hunting licenses in Tennessee, you just have to pay the fee. If you’re under 13, it’s free. For a non resident the price is a bit more but not a lot. For example, a year long permit for all species of fish, valid in every location is $98. For 10 days it’s $30, or 3 days for $20. A resident pays ~ half that. You can buy it online and have it in just a few minutes total. Most states work the same way pretty much. It’s just the prices that change.

You don't want to live by the ocean - it's expensive, both in land cost and insurance; it's also subject to more violent weather. That said, even though it's expensive, it's fun to visit in some places. Carefully review other people's comments. I once visited Miami beach and was virtually eaten alive by sand fleas. Along the same coast, you sometimes get dead animals (like jelly fish) that have active stingers called Portuguese Man-o-War. Despite what myth's people say, do NOT let them urinate on the sting because it makes them worse. The stings are acidic and so is ammonia in urine. Lifeguards have the proper chemicals.

As for pier, you can fish and observe fish, sea turtles, pelicans, manatees, dolphins, stingrays and even sharks. (You can see I used to live there...). Great seafood too!

Yes, I agree. I was surprised when he said it was crowded. Especially when she said it was “packed“. Waiting till they go to truly crowded beaches.

The Oregon Coast beaches are amazing. They aren't warm beaches, but we have a lot of agates on our beaches and even some sand beaches, like in Florence, Oregon. The best part is that Oregon beaches are "The People's Coast" which means every inch of Oregon beaches is open to the public - the only exceptions are when there are endangered species nesting on a few specific areas, and even then, you can still go on the beach, they just don't allow dogs on those when the birds are nesting. The entire coast is great.

Most ppl don't think of places like Chicago for beaches. We've actually have about 20 beaches or so with the most popular ones on the North Side of Town . Chicago sits on the bed of Lake Michigan one of the Great Lakes ! The Great Lakes have been compared to like a sea or mini oceans . But for as cold and snowy as it gets in Chicago during the summer we have awesome weather and great great beaches to go too. And a lot of them right in the downtown area . Chicago was a and will be again a must visit destination in the States ! Top food City in the world awesome neighborhoods communities so many things to do from any sport any outdoor activities so many festivals during the summer Six Flags great bars and clubs Awesome food you can only get in Chicago . Great content keep up the good work

Pensacola Beach here on Florida was voted Whitest Beaches on Earth twice by Travel Channel viewers. There are places where you can walk a mile and not see anyone-and there’s tons of dolphins 🐬!

Know my comment is many days late. The west coast beach water(Pacific Ocean) is cold, even in the summer. The Gulf of Mexico water is much warmer. Enjoy your videos. ❤

I am familiar with the beaches in Florida. Clearwater Beach is nicer than it looked, but very touristy. I like the warm water there. It's much warmer than on the Atlantic side. However the fishing there is terrible. The west coast of Florida is mostly sandy bottom for several miles out so you need to take a boat out about 20 miles to get to more productive waters. Unlike on the Atlantic coast where the water becomes deep just a few feet from the beach. If you ever visit Florida for the fishing go to the eastcoast. If you want water that is in the 90's go to the westcoast. And, if you want to swim in the cleanest water anywhere you should check out anyone of dozens of crystal clear streams that can be found in the center of the state. The water is filtered through miles of rocks before springing forth from the rocks. The water is rather cold though but that's a good thing in Florida. Gaters like warm fresh water.

Don't leave out about the many Lakes and believe it or not there are many ponds (our ponds are actually quite large in size) stocked with many varieties of fish such as Large Mouth Bass, Catfish, Bluegills, Trout to enjoy catching whether Catch and Release or for Personal Consumption. Many people do go out Deep Sea fishing but I myself enjoy fishing the waters of Oregon. Fishing also at Reservoir's inland. My family has been long time Gold and Mineral Prospectors and Extractors which valuable Gems also from many areas located Oregon. My brother is President of SWOMA (SouthWest Oregon Mining Association) Grants Pass. You don't need a license to be an Mineral/Gold Prospector. 😊

Fishing licenses in the USA, you need one for each state and require different types for the water you are on, lakes, ocean, fresh water, sea water, and types fishing for. No test required.

I don't fish, but I was acharter member of 4:32 the Northern California V drive association. When I was 12 was training to race in the juniors, a class for ski racing. I decided that I didn't want to train every day. In Petaluma that would mean skiing in the Petaluma River. Its salt water and cold as hell. So skiing in December didn't. The water would have been below 50 degrees, did not appeal to me . Especially in cold weather. So I didn't race.
