Very informative video Simon, I have just purchased the Arriva version… I do like your layout very atmospheric and the use of real photos blended in and new house builds etc…

Somebody has most likely already mentioned this but in UK the right side light is lit during daytime operation because it provides best visibility of the oncoming train to people on the track. At night the left side light is lit because it illuminates reflective lineside signs better. Cheers!

Certainly a lovely loco, and does indeed run beautifully. Yours is the newest tooling, Ive always has the previous too,ing of 47/57 and they always ran like bag of spanners, and derailed at the sight of any curve or point lol. So seeing yours is giving me hope. You asked about the lights. In reality it should the top light, the left large light (daytime, right one for nighttime running), along with the two markers. However farish rarely attempt duel coloured light so we are stuck with what you see, no white markers, maybe one day.

I'm just starting n gauge and i am blown away by the detail these locos have. They are also beautiful runners. I cannot wait to get my first loco. I think the prices are good too compared to 00 given how good these look. e.g class 800 iet 5 car set for £185. No way will you get that in 00. Thanks for the review! I hope they do the gwr version soon

Have been eyeing up a Class 57 myself, though was gonna try and get it in Network Rail livery to go with my track cleaner. Glad to see it's a decent runner even though it's going round 7.5in curves, will be giving it a closer look once I get one! That is if I haven't spent all my money already heh Great video Simon ~James

The front white headlights are as per the real locos. The current lower light lit is for daylight running. The other lower light is lit for night running. On the Oo model they are switchable but they are not switchable on the current n gauge model. Great loco and vid. I have the green freightliner model but it needs a new motor as the motor is getting very hot after running it for a few minutes.

interesting, thanks for the info, good to know its not an issue with the loco 👍

this was a special presentation for us , we love the chocolate brown engine and cars . that was a nice test track in your conservatory we liked that table did you build it ? . we also liked the look of your yard with the pea stones we would like the same. thank you for sharing cheers .

Thank you 🤗 really like the livery. I think the table was only a cheap one from Argos! Looks really good though 👍

The front lights are indeed incomplete. In case of the 57 this can be fixed by replacing the red led by a bi-colour LED. Connect the "white -" to the front lights and you're set. Works great on my GWR 57. It's quite a fiddly job but worth the effort!

Hi Simon, when you unboxed the Class 57 is had rapido couplers. I noticed when you connected it up with the carriages it had what looked like a magnetic coupler. What coupler are you using?

Just run in my GF class 57 freight liner model on DC and having problems with the dcc install, tried two different decoders Bachmann/Zimo and for some reason loco shoots around the track at 50% speed.
@Poliss954 жыл бұрын
Could be that the pins are too long and are shorting on the chassis. Could also be a dirty power supply. Try turning DC off in CV 29.
@chrisw63034 жыл бұрын
@@Poliss95 Sorted it now, a broken dcc controller even though it was brand new sent it of to the shop and got it replaced.

Hi got my shed insulated it's 10 X 8 ready for base board just wondering if you have drawings or detail of how your layout runs underneath the main track mine wont be DCC but like your layout I also have turn table etc many thanks in advance for your time

What was your final opinion regarding the best track cleaner? Was it ISA. I’m getting close to running my fav N gauge loco but I desire running her on clean track. Thanks for your input and beautiful loco you purchased for your bday.

The conclusion (at the moment) is 'whatever works for you / your layout' , all the methods seem to work well so far but I'm going to leave the experiment running and see which lasts longer 👍

Where did you get that locomotive? Though I’m from the United States and they don’t have British locomotives in my local model train store like mostly American which is really disappointing though they did sale a British OO scale locomotive but though they don’t sale graham farish locomotives though I like British trains more than the ones in my country even though I’m from the United States

Hi... Great video, really tempted to throw about Rule 1 and get one for my layout. One question, how comes you've moved from the Z21 to the now subscription based Digitrains pro?, I ask because I wondered if there was any great advantage for it (other than PC control)... Can you label names on the sounds?...
@SimonsShed4 жыл бұрын
Thanks really like the loco/livery. Not sure what you mean, still using the z21 here , not sure what digitrains is?
@BanditEssex4 жыл бұрын
@@SimonsShed ah apologies there is more than one app available to control the z21... But then I realised after you've the new version of the z21 app which I discovered last night... Great improvements..

Hey Simon, I’m a big fan great layout. I was wondering if you could help me. I wanted to know if I could use an 18 wire for both my bus and feeder wires for a 2x4 layout. I’m fairly new and doing my wiring portion, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks
@Poliss954 жыл бұрын
If using a flexible wire for the bus then choose a conductor size of at last 32/0.2mm www.brian-lambert.co.uk/DCC_Page_1.html

Why 1 light is on and not the other is because no real trains to you have day running lights and night running lights bachmann set it up for day running which means the light on the right of the loco is lit up and in real life the small light on the left of the local would be lit up as well
