A small break from the trike build for this video. been looking for a solution to rain soaked BBQs for a while now, so I drew up a few sketches and made a start.
Manged to get all the timber for £20 from Facebook and the roofing for £50 from ebay. the sink is an old stainless bowl with a hole cut and a soakaway into the bushes. There will be a small waterbut with a cold water feed for hand washing. The bricks were left behind by the previous house
owner so were free, but I did pickup a similar amount of driveway blocks from Facebook last year for £35 so we could factor that in. All told I spent about £120 including screws etc, not including the BBQ.
So now I have somewhere to cook and contemplate the world without getting wet.
Thanks for watching.

Very cool and awesome job on the shelter. I need to figure how to just add a nice roof over my weber so I can grill if it happens to be a wet day and we want to grill out. Remind me to send you a rubber mallet so next time you are laying brick pavers you're not using the end of your hand sledge as a tapping device. Going to split that handle one day and then you'll be fecked. Loved watching the build and loved the nice pint to wash down a few days of hard work. Great job buddy! Really enjoyed it. Looking forward to more builds. Cheers!!

I hate to be that guy but I notice at the end you had a beer. I recently read a bag of charcoal briquettes and it said ‘ don’t not consume alcohol whilst in charge of a BBQ’ very irresponsible. 😂😂😂😂

Amazing. How long did it take you to build? ☺

Not really sure. I built it during lockdown last year, a few hours here and there in between work.

Mate, this looks great! Did you cement in the bricks? Don't they come loose? If not, I'm totally doing that for my shack!

Cheers. The entire base is laid on bed of sharp sand, and edges are 4 sand to 1 cement, dry mix. Laid the same way, with the mix slowly curing/setting with the moisture from the ground. Nothing has moved so far.

This looks awesome. Genuine question! Does the wood around the BBQ not get crazy hot when it's in use? And is there anything you can do to minimise risk of combustion?

When I was cooking Pizza last boxing day and the temp was crazy hot, the wood started smoldering. My boy had the idea of lifting out the Weber and running some exhaust manifold heat resistant wrap around the inside edge of the wood. Haven't done it yet, but watch this space. Thanks for watching. G

Mine too, I've now replaced the burnt wood and lined the new stuff with gold reflective foil. Seems to be holding up nicely.
