Having a few watches that add up to the grail watch or just go straight for the grail. That's such a good question.

I think it depends on the watch. If it's something you can wear everyday, I say go for the grail. A steel Daytona for instance, can be worn in any situation. If it's something like a DayDate you're gonna want something to wear daily.

She's a beauty!! I use to think you had to be a certain age to own an all gold "President," I don't think that anymore...I'm 64, it's a watch, a functional piece of jewelry. Don't know what you do for a living but I'd say by those callouses, you're are a working man...I mean that in a good way. So, good on you, you've earned it, young Man! Congratulations!!

I bought the same one on last summer at AD in Japan. In Japan, there is no so called waiting list so We have to go to AD frequently to get one. Recently, all of ADs are full with customers so I was really lucky at that moment and I understood why it is called Holy Grail when I faced it.

Congratulations on getting one of your grail pieces! I’d got the exact same watch from my AD two weeks ago and have been so happy since. I thought I’d be settled with the white gold version but am wrong. Everose gold just has a different look and shimmer under sunlight in particular. Be persistent and aim for a Daytona next. But I’d recommend not to waste your effort on anything less than one in precious metal.

Amazing watch, congrats! A full precious metal bracelet Rolex is something every collector should get to experience. I was offered one of these back in 2017 and couldn't afford it at the time, but I've always thought this is the best day date. Maybe a platinum ice blue with baguettes would top it, but the value is much better in this piece. I agree, it's better than a Daytona... But a Daytona would be the icing on the cake. Then you can move on to Patek or some indies 😄
