I rise my hand or I raise my hand? Rise and raise are two verbs that are easy to confuse. In this lesson, I will teach the differences between these two words, their present tense, past tense, and past participle forms, and tricks to remember how we use them. www.engvid.com/rise-or-raise/

@Anthony Purvis Teaching grammar isn't an easy task and not all conscious teachers opt for using grammatical termonology ! A vast majority of students complain that the study of grammar is too dull and boring and keep blaming their teachers ! This brave Lady is trying to make her lesson quite simple , so clear and enjoyable . She is not , at all , idiot .

thanks .. good info. في العربية الفرق واضح تماماً حين تقول "يرفع أو يربي" ستستخدم Raise وكلاهما يحتاج إلى مفعول به أما حين تقول "يرتفع" فتستخدم Rise فالفعل يرتفع لا يحتاج مفعول به كما في مثال أشرقت الشمس أو ارتفعت الشمس
