The TOE does something, but its actually super unrealistic since the PHYSICS update, where now its more benefitial to do a set up fosucing on Loosing the less grip possible (EXAMPLE) Increasing Positive Rear Toe (looking towards inside) to battle the possible Oversteer when the degradation starts to affect traction, so you loose less control when.... you loose control. You wheelspin less, oversteer less, and create less heat. Before Update, it was more realistic... Very smilar to Assetto Corsa (of course this was on the 4, 5 months after release, since i got it since day 1)

That's what the rain/no rain spa race was all about.... changing weather and track conditions affecting tire grip.... not necessarily wet conditions... the track would cloud over and get cold, then sun out and hot.... Noticing the same with TT and race C... C has the weather on and even a dry cold track is slippy... on TT no weather and consistent warm weather so car is more consistent and predictable... just my own observations

Think about it, braking turns kinetic energy and converts into heat, the same is anagolus to acceleration. It's a pretty easy solution man: adjust your break balance to the rear and you'll get more heat. You have too much balance in the front, you need to adjust it a little to the rear. Basic physics. 😊

I believe the ghost lap is simple whatever lap they player shared. So, we can not know what number lap they were on to get that much heat into the tires.But it makes perfect since that you can get more heat/grip into the tires driving more laps/driving more aggressively. So, maybe drive more aggressively for a lap or so to heat things up. people with more time on their Hans can obvoulsy take more advantage of this. But seems completely fair to me.Would bee nice if the game Ui showed that data though 😆

Disclaimer, i'm not a pro driver nor do i consider myself fast - but theres a little trick i learnt whilst watching something on Fernando Alonso's driving technique (i wish i could find the clip). This actually helped me tame cars like the Ford GT, Lambo Huracan, and other other mid engine cars that were a nightmare to drive before they changed the handling model. I went from loosing the rear with oversteer on corner entry to consistently out breaking beating the metas in my class. (Unpopular opinion - I think metas are way to easy to be fast with. I wish more people tried to beat the metas, so i tip my hat to anyone brave enough to take an R8 on the Nordschleife) Getting on the brakes while still being on the accelerator. (I know so many people say its a big no-no, but the way I see it, theres nothing in the rule book, if f1 drivers and even nascar drivers do it then why not.) Beyond having more stability overall for MR cars, I think GT7 and GT Sport before it, both consider carcass and core temperature being warmed up by brake temps as a tyre warming technique. Radiation from hot brakes warm up the internal core temps which naturally help keep the basal surface temps a few degrees hotter than normal. You can used this technique "almost" anywhere to keep your tyres in the window, which also means you can focus on push laps rather than wasting time. Long story short, watch the braking and accelerating inputs of these top tier players. Language of Aliens right there! Ofcourse theres also the weather

Was thinking this exact sane thing. And to build off this, “double pedaling” it, causes the rear end to squat more, thus creating artificial downforce, which will then drive more heat into the tires But it would make sense that GT7 to an extent simulates brake temperatures… and how they influence braking distances and tire temps, but they’re just not showing it. ACC does simulate how brake temperatures affect your he aforementioned factors, by way of the brake ducts
@simplejackenduro

The best way to test this would be to take the 458 for a spin around the nordschlief and see what the tire temps do. There are several sections where you have to double-pedal it in order to keep the car balanced so you don’t spin

What about programmable peripherals. I'm a software dev so i go into thinking like a programmer. What if they're able to intercept their wheel/controller input signals and introduce micro left/right jitter when they drive straight. Enough that you don't feel the jitter and that the car isn't destabilised/moved. Think weaving in F1 warm-up, but on a tiny tiny microscopic level. Maybe that could be how the temps don't go down on the straights. Then when your steering angle leaves the centre by a few degrees, the jitter is disabled so that your cornering is not compromised. It's a mad hat theory obviously, just putting it out there for thought. ☘️

@@Kireth oh I'm just a dumb web developer with little experience with programming hardware like that. I've no idea where you'd begin to do take on such a project, way above my expertise level but the idea on principal is sound-ish, I think! I think, marcuslindsay is right, it's the brakes balance! And I would also say, 1. make more rounds before the qualifying, 2. choose softer tyres, to get them hotter quicker for more grip. But it also depends on how many rounds do you have to drive and what for a type of track do you drive: if it's very curvy, the tyres heat up earlier because you have to break more often; and for less rounds you need slicks, for many rounds you must choose harder tyres. If you are still unsure, look at all the websites, that offer proven setups to download.

I wonder why tyre temps don’t go up regardless. If you don’t work them it might be slow going, but they should go up eventually. At those speeds they should. Just my guess, I’m not sure

I honestly think there is a BIG misconception here. Its not the tire temp that makes the guys faster. Its because they DRIVE faster, which at the end equals in more heat of course because they do operate more at the limit. In contrast to that, I can see alot of situations in which you just dont go fast enough, there is alot of speed left behind in many turns thus having lower temps. And in the end this whole "tire temps make you faster story" may not even matter
@Kireth

@@Kireth But isnt that contrary to the point of your video? You ask if its fair or unfair but in the end you may even not get any "Extra grip!" but people who drive faster just have higher temps. Its not that they are faster BECAUSE of the temps

Yeah we talk about driving styles in the video bro!
@kev.kaviation1751
@kev.kaviation1751 Жыл бұрын
@@Kireth I disagree here. Its not driving "style", its PACE and the ability to drive on the tire limit. In the video you talk about driving style but always having to add the "but cold tires make me slide more". For me the video brings the message of those "I´ve found the grip hack"-video. You even put "GRIP.EXE" in your thumbnail. "Gran turismo is lying to your", "Extra grip", "Extra grip FAIR or UNFAIR", "insane secrets", "results are shocking". Maybe you get what I mean? For example the foxhole section starting at 2:55. In every clip I can see you taking different lines, missing the first right hand apex and the not present tire sound might suggest you are not at the limit. If you were, you MIGHT also have higher temps. In result, the ghost drives away. My point is that its maybe the other way around of what your message of the video is. I quite liked your videos in the past, this one is WAY too dramatized. I understand from a creators side of view, that you have to do it.

this just confirms that I need to figure out how to tie the tire telemetry data to a set of LED's on each corner of my tv. so they glow the correct colour. I've been meaning to do this for quite a while now lol, but it turns out soldering together individual LED's is really tedious

@@SilverSidedSquirrel honestly, it's something you put together yourself very easily and less than 50 bucks. if you're in canada it might be feasible for me to build and ship off but i don't think it would be worth to ship across any border because of how cheap it all is. even the corner tire LED idea can be done with the one LED strip and some scissors, there's only 3 wires from arduino to the lights, and they can be attached to themselves. so it's extremely simple and easily a great first soldering project, or just find the right connector adapters to plug and play it. 15$ for an arduino and $15[cad] for an addressable LED strip, then it's just tinkering in SIMHUB with the telemetry settings. but I think I have to learn some code level stuff to figure out the tires, which has very much been holding me back as well lol

I just had a go at the Nurburgring 24 time trial and got a 8:19.473, still along way of gold, is there anything I can do to get faster with a controller? (In the 911, all the driving aids already switched off, apart from weak abs). Interesting with the tyre temps, I find throttle control seems everything in this game, and not pushing under steer everywhere etc. here to learn.

If the temps are changing that quickly through a single corner, they're clearly just surface temps so it doesn't really mean much. If it showed core temps you might have a better idea of whether or not they're staying in the optimal window overall. No idea if GT simulates it that well (or at all) but the Porsche and other cars with more weight behind the centre of the car should roast the rears more and the others should stress the fronts, so maybe try changing driver style to keep the temperatures balanced (or change the setup if that's allowed). A couple of degrees difference wouldn't make a difference on GT3 cars anyway. Their tyres have an optimum temp window of about 70-90°C and give decent grip from 40-130°C. The fact they go straight from blue to green with one degree (71 to 72°C) difference kinda says it all. The Japanese driver being faster would be down to stuff like maximising the track at 7:50 and actually hitting the apex at 8:15.
