Based on the true story of Jann Mardenborough and the PlayStation Studios games, the film is the ultimate wish-fulfillment tale of a teenage Gran Turismo player whose gaming skills won a series of Nissan competitions to become an actual professional racecar driver. The Neill Blomkamp-directed movie stars David Harbour, Orlando Bloom, Archie Madekwe, Darren Barnet, Geri Halliwell Horner, and Djimon Hounsou. Gran Turismo opens in theaters on August 11, 2023.

Video game movies and TV shows this year show just the range of stories that can come from video games... You have the apocalyptic drama in The Last of Us, you have a colorful animated kids movie (that is actually FOR kids) in Super Mario, you have the historical drama in Tetris, and now you have Gran Turismo. What a time to be alive.

He still active racing. Check the Super GT 2023 season GT300 class driver list. There are Jann Mardenborough alongside with Igor Fraga competing together.

GT7 is awesome especially Graphically and in VR. It is kind of sad though that the damage to any cars in this game is completely non existent and makes it feel pretty arcade like.

I’ve been playing GT7 on the PS VR2 and it’s an amazing experience in VR. I’m currently saving up for a steering wheel and pedals for the full immersion 😁

This was from the gt sport era, they no longer do this and gt7 went back to its roots where it’s not souly focused on competitive racing. The real drivers name is Jann Mardenborough, and he ended up having a pretty lengthy and decent career in the real racing world. Along with a run at the 24 hour lemans race in a lmp car.
