@@phillippugh2161 I own a sbgn005, movement and crown action needs to be improved at this price point of 3k, now they want 3.5k and up for a 9f. Ss bracelet as usual GS below standard in terms of feel against Tudor, Omega, Rolex.

My g shock is more accurate but like the citizen, it doesn’t look anywhere near as nice as this GS!

Citizen may or may not be more accurate but they are still just Citizen. May as well just save your money and look at your phone for the time.

I think you laboured the point about the crown positions, said “fantastic” or “great” a hundred times or more, spoke fleetingly about its accuracy... There are so many specifics (and descriptors) like the Zaratsu polishing, metal hardness / need to polish, battery replacement requirements, history of Grand Seiko, other Sports line pieces from GS, other competitors like the Explorer 1 (?)... ...I just didn’t learn anything at all, and I think this watch in particular could do with a better write up. Hope this is taken as constructive, with no offence intended.

Its a review.... Its not suppose to be math class.. " I did not learn anything ".... Were your words. The learning is your part of it. How ever that may be, which sources you direct yourself too to learn about a criteria of a item you are interested in. He did a good review. Im satified. Good quality camera. You can hear his voice just fine. An he showed the watch perfectly, an gave a bonus on showing the drilled lugs an different watch straps that can be worn, on the watch itself. Give positivity instead of negativity because he will improve with postivity an grow an be more defined with his future videos because of it.......

You'd be wrong to assume this is a typical quartz movement. Yes is is indeed a quartz movement, but if you look into it you'll be impressed with the engineering and performance of it. Don't take this for walmart quartz movement

It takes time, I guess. I used to feel that way, but when I held one in my hands, and saw the finishing plus the engineering that went into it, and suddenly it made sense. Just my two cents, cheers!

So true i used to think the same 2 week ago. But looks at these polished watch hand ! You won't find them on watch under 8K eur !

While I somewhat agree, the 9F is a different animal. 50 year service intervals, serviceable/repairable so it will last multiple lifetimes, more hand finishing and regulation than most mechanical movements, it's really in a class of it's own. I would have no problem wearing a 9F based watch and be happy to explain my decision to anyone who brought it up.

Similarly they both offer function and reliability in the modern age. I have a montblanc rollerball and it makes much more sense than having a fountain pen. If I saw a man take out a fountain pen in my profession I would think he was a pretentious knob! I don’t own a high end quartz but I like the idea of having a grab and go watch in the collection and could see a Gs serving that purpose well.
