I personally like the army comp, gives a nice overview. No need to explain all details, tho, most of us will be pretty familiar with TW and most units. And for the impatient ones, you can put a link to the battle's start. The intro was nice. Do what you feel is best for you, isn't a big deal anyway. Good job as always.

You should keep the old army-comps run through for scenarios and more tactical battles. Good time for explaining the scenario and rules too. But I guess for ones like this where the players are a bit nooby, knowing the army comps isn't important.

This is a good way to do the intro. We see what army comps look like without having to zoom in on each unit for an extra 10 minutes of video.

I like when you tell the army composition, but diving straight into combat is a good decision. And it works. I guess you can reach a middle ground telling part of the army composition in the slow motion mode while the battle is beginning.

Pixel the reason I personally like army comps is because it gets to showcase units for faction that I don't personally play very much man. You army comps make me play different factions cause I'm like holy balls that unit looks sick! Please do them my man

When it comes to taking walls, a lot of it depends on context. An elite unit guarding a wall, backed up by solid ranged units ready to offer flanking fire is a lot different than a wall manned solely by cheap infantry with no meaningful support. In the former, I'd use my cheap troops as fodder to tire out the elites and use up ammo. In the latter, breaking them with elite units quickly seems the wiser option. No tactic is applicable 100% of the time.

1:58 You could put "skip to battle" button for them. 4:13 My strategy would be hard on weak unit because almost everybody don`t want to guard the wall for long. This was the defeat for the defenders from the start.

Army compositions are fine. Choosing your units is a vitally important part of any Total War game. Army composition matters almost as much as battlefield tactics.

Pixelated Apollo Hey Apollo, I just wanted to say I love your vids and have most of them saved in a playlist (majority are NTW but a lot 1212AD) so I can watch them again when I'm on a plane or without service. Personally, one of the reasons I think you're the best TW youtuber is because you do a quick in depth, close up focus on the units. Other TW YTers just zoom over them and say the name; I don't like that all because many of the units look awesome, are very detailed, and the makers and modders of these games worked really hard to make each unit look glorious...so it's a shame when they unit type is mentioned but we don't get to see any close ups. If you were to skip the army comp I would be disappointed but ultimately it's your choice. A compromise could be comp focus during some or right before two units clash. Lastly, I think we both have a problem when it comes to artillery. It's an addiction. I loved this battle and many of the NTW battles due to the prominence of artillery. *BUT* there were quite a few times you missed some especially gruesomely juicy hits...now I'm not complaining because that last quarter was artillery insanity, but personally (and I know I'm just speaking for myself) but soldiers getting cut down by artillery and arrows/bolts is probably the best part of every battle. Sure the hand to hand is cool but it's kinda hard to see some of the fighting when there's hundreds clumped up. But when those arrows fly in, or a barrage explodes on a ton of troops, ya see it all and it is glorious 😩.

It would be nice if Apollo told people that sent in battles to send in artillery heavy battles where the artillery pieces don’t just shoot each other until there is only a few left. If he jus told people to only go for artillery when they are left unguarded, so like a strategic cav charge instead of just artillery shooting each other.

I kinda think Foot Knights is a more appropriate name seeing as how they are using two handed great weapons so they wouldn't be mounted, though it would be hilarious watching them try to use them mounted. Oh and i'm not sure if it's the case for this particular game but in other Total Wars Fighting on the walls is either a last resort or not worth the men you lose doing it.
