*Audio Fixed!* In this video I go in detail over what it felt like to have a grandiose sense of self-importance and entitlement growing up and through my 20's until my period of entering recovery.

In my experience living this way, this is one of the most nefarious, insidious aspects of narcissistic thinking. It not only is a world of make-believe it leads to downright despicable decisions and treatment of others. Others are disposable when you believe your own fantastical aspirations. If only... this person wasn' t around... if only I stole this or that.... lied about this.... spent all of my money on this or that.... then my crazy dreams will be reality.
The narcissistic person, if the world around them is so fortunate, becomes a joke. Always talking, never acting, never getting anywhere. However if this person takes enough action or gets a hold of some resources -- watch out.
I'm so grateful I no longer have to live with this way of thinking. This false sense of entitlement and grandiosity. Thank you for listening and subscribing.
Unhelpful, derogatory comments towards those in recovery or seeking to better themselves will be removed!

It’s good how you’re explaining things from the perspective of the narc’s internal operating system. I appreciate how brave you are to do this. It can’t be easy to admit what you were and why. Keep up the good work!

This is literally exactly how my childhood progressed. Wow. Ive always wanted to stop thinking this way but i guess its just really ingrained in me as a response to me having felt that "Other people think im weird"

Yes! We need to be humbled and brought to our knees. You have to experience it to understand the power of it - being crushed over and over again.

Thanks for this info. I just met a long time friend that has these tendencies and I couldn’t understand this type of behaviour. I tried to explain to them life is not like that, but it was like I am who I am and I am too old to change.

Do you feel like you had to go through that to get to a place to want to be balanced or do you think if it was pointed out earlier out you could’ve gotten out earlier?

How do you balance between being okay with having some dreams/goals and executing on them, and giving up on your other dreams? Also, is having goals/dreams that seem statistically unlikely to achieve really all that bad?
