David Lariño is also known as "el fo". He sometimes streams and is a very funny character, very tactical and playing some weird openings. Nitratochess is his chess account and his chess channel. By the way, everything is spanish.

I found a different solution to the puzzle moment at 10:24 that when I checked with the engine is right! Instead of Qc7, white also has Bxf6 Rxd6 Rxd6. Black can’t take the bishop back because of Rd8+ which deflects the b8 rook from pinning the b pawn, and the rook and pawn endgame would be winning. So instead of taking back on f6 black would have to just move the queen or something but then white has a rook, bishop and 2 pawns for the queen which is a lot of material and white is better.

Damn, this might sound trivial, but this GM was an absolute monster. At first I was like "Meh, this opening is kinda boring, is this guy trying to dry out the game or what ?" and then proceeded to find those absolutely insane attack ideas and cool checkmate patterns from what seemed a drawish position. Crazy how bad I am compared to those people.

I was a bit disappointed I failed the puzzle with 21. Qxb8, figured I must have missed something. But per the lichess free engine, it actually keeps a decent advantage, too! (Qc7 still given as best, though 👍)

I know you're an IM and I'm no where near that, yet, have you ever looked into the Morphy Gambit vs the Philidor? There doesn't seem to be a ton out here on youtube after exd4 Bc4 the computer still says white maintains their starting advantage, +0.3 the full gambit useually involves going for c3 dxc3 then Qb3. IDK i guess it might be nice to see more info on it.

Eric, you're by far my favorite creator! I just wanted to mention I felt an inexplicable wave of disappointment when the techno(?) music started playing during the sped-up footage of the game. Maybe it's just me, but it felt very unlike you.

Didn't realize until I saw the ending of this video that you are left handed. Did you know that out of the 10 best chefs in the world, 8 of them are actually left handed (this might be an urban legend, but I know that I read it somewhere some years ago. What is this thing, beeing late for the games. Is this by purpose? Some tactics or are pro-chess players not good in timemanagement? I saw this now in a few of yours, but also other chessplayers videos. When I play chesstournament (very low level), I am at least 15 minutes before start there. Levy said, that he was late to a game also in Madrid, because the Barista took so long, but I cannot imagine, this happens that often XD

He peaked at 2521 in May 2013, the same year he achieved GM status, and has been dropping a bit ever since, especially since November 2022.
